Glucose-Sensing Contact Lens In 2014 the software giant Google announced its glucose-sensing contact lens specially design and developed for people with Diabetes Mellitus.

The system would likely contain two or three parts: 1.
the contact lens itself, which would sense glucose levels;
2.
a “reader device, which would communicate and power the contact lens; and
3.
a user display, which would allow patients to see and review the data. The reader and user display could be on the same device. In March 2015 Google already received their patent for the Glucose-Sensing Contact Lens. The patent specifically mentions the possibility of eyeglasses, jewelry (e.g., earrings, necklace), or clothing (e.g., a scarf, hat, headband) functioning as the reader.
