inter is coming, so make sure your pond is prepared with these handy tips. Remove Weeds Hook out pond weed, but leave it on the side of your pond for a few days. This allows any pond life to make its way back to your pond. You can dispose of weeds in your compost bin or pile, once you know they’re free from wildlife. Prevent Fallen Leaves Fallen leaves will eventually decay in the pond, affecting the acid and ammonia levels in the water. Net out any fallen leaves, or even better, install a pond net to prevent them falling in the pond in the first place. Reduce Fish Feed Once the pond water hits 10 Degrees Celsius or less, your fish will become much less active. Their metabolism will slow down and as a result, you can reduce their feed. Don’t overfeed your fish, as any uneaten food will rot and contaminate the water.
