William Themeli school to get new roof Pupils from William Themeli Secondary in Ngwenani-Ha-Themeli outside Thohoyandou were left without two classrooms, after a mysterious fire damaged the roofing of the school. Now, learners will no longer have to worry about the two damaged classrooms, thanks to CTL Workshop and Spares in Shayandima for donating the materials for repairing damaged roofing. According to the managing director of CTL Workshop and Spares, Mr Tshifhiwa Lukoto, his company has forked out more than R68 000 to purchase the

roofing material. “I am blessed by God and I find I have to help those who are not. My parents were born and bred in the village and I have to plough back into the communities where my parents were raised,” said Lukoto. Vhembe District Executive Mayor Tshitereke Matibe applauded CTL Workshop and Spares for partnering with the district in order to uplift the standard of young pupils. “Education is the key to success and when the pupils have better classes, they will take education seriously. The district municipality is ready to promote education among young pupils,” said Matibe.

The acting principal of the school, Ms Eileen Mabala, said that CTL Workshop and Spares is “Good Samaritans sent by God to help the pupils to realise their dreams.” She added that the pupils were left stranded and without a library and a class after the fire. “The restoration of our two classrooms, which also include the library, will help to meet the shortages of classrooms. We used to squeeze pupils and teachers into another class,” said Mabala. She also expressed her thanks towards the Vhembe district for donating 100 chairs to the school.

The Matsa Thondoni was officially launched on 27 July.
