Will Cosmos pay for Leopard’s defeat? It remains to be seen whether Jomo Cosmos will pay for the 0-1 defeat which Black Leopards suffered at the hands of Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday when they meet in their NFD encounter at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa on Sunday afternoon. While Leopards will go for the kill, Cosmos must win the match for their fans, who left the same stadium with sore hearts last Saturday after their home
team played to a goalless draw with Highlandspark. Leopards’ overlapping right back, Marks Munyai, is likely to be in the starting line-up on Sunday after watching last Saturday’s game against Golden Arrows from the grandstand. Munyai’s combination with DR Congo international Dunga Munganga at the far back has always given the team’s defence a good shape. This evening’s NFD fixtures are: Santos vs Maluti FET Col-
lege (Athlone Stadium Cape Town) and Garankuwa United vs Highlandspark (Pilditch Stadium Pretoria). Tomorrow's fixtures are Lamontville Golden Arrows vs Milano United, African Warriors vs FC Cape Town and Baroka FC vs Thanda Royal Zulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The other matches on Sunday are Witbank Spurs vs Cape Town All Stars, while Vasco da Gama will host Royal Eagles.

Maweja Takers enhanced their chances of playing in the final of the Amos Charity Cup Soccer Tournament by beating Tshakhumanandilani FC 2-1 at the packed Mulangaphuma Stadium on Sunday. Tshakhumanandilani committed suicide by playing aerial balls from behind while it was clear that their opponents had a height advantage.

Killer Nedzamba steers Tshiozwi Anchors to 2-1 victory Aluwani "Killer" Nedzamba steered his team, Tshiozwi Anchors, to victory when they beat Gogobole Home Defenders 2-1 in the Ndivhuwo Funerals tournament at Gogobole on Sunday. Both sides played attacking football in the first half, making the match entertaining to watch. Anchors had
their first regret in the fifth minute. Maanda Nengovhela missed a golden chance when he shot wide. Rudzani “Shikhimbi” Mulaudzi of Defenders scored the only goal of his team in the 24th minute. He unleashed a powerful header from outside the box and the keeper of Anchors, Scara Phathela, watched in disbelief as the ball hit the
back of the net. Vhutshilo Mafunisa and Gwasda Nedzamba of Anchors were booked for different infringements during the match. The visiting team brought on Zane Mulaudzi and Londy Musiamo. They changed the complexion of the match by distributing telling passes to their strikers. In the second half,
Anchors’ scored the equalizer via Aluwani Nedzamba. Realizing that their chances were slim, Defenders abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back. The speedy striker Aluwani “Killer” Nedzamba complete his brace and scored the winning goal in the 85th minute after beating the off side trap.
The referee, Mr Calvin Nemavhola, flashed the first yellow card in the 11th minute. Mukandangalwo Ramunana of Takers obstructed Tsepo Ndou and the Tshilamba whistleman wasted no time before flashing yellow. Takers threatened to score in the 19th minute, but their killer-striker, Décor Ramunana, shot aimlessly from the edge of the box. The keeper of Tshakhumanandilani, Ashley Mphephu, was booked before the teams adjourned for half time. He handled the ball outside the penalty area. Takers were the first to celebrate. The former Basel FC midfielder, Shonisani Rambebu, caught the keeper napping with a ground cutter after a scramble within the box. Both sides used all their substitution chances in the last half. The cleverest move of Maweja was the replacing of Mukandangalwo Ramunana with Morgan Makhuvha. Makhuvha formed a deadly combination with another substitute, Takalani Ramagalela, at the forefront. Tshakhumanandilani found the equalizer in the 69th minute. Lavhelesani Singo tried his luck from the 35-meter area with a half-volley. The keeper of Maweja Takers, Ndamulelo Thathaisa, watched helplessly as the ball went beyond his reach. Takers, who needed full points in the match in order to remain in the race to play in the final, did not stop fighting. Morgan Makhuvha scored their winning goal from a corner kick. The ball landed behind the net without any further touch. Fixtures
