best mathematics teacher in the country. In this programme, top mathematics pupils from 21 secondary schools from Vhembe received lessons free of charge and they then wrote tests in different categories of mathematics. The programme is aimed at motivating top maths pupils, so that they can pass the subject with flying colours in their final exams. The competition was sponsored by Dr Mamphaga, Dr Managa, Dr Ramaru, NR Mamidze (businessman), Thengwe principal Nkhangweni Nemudzivhadi, Thengwe former student Musiiwa Nyadzani, Mutale mayor Sarah Rammbuda and the deputy principal of Thengwe, Mrs Mercy Madanda.
as well as creating employment for local residents. He added that the project had already been approved and that the contractors and other workers had already been appointed. Mutavhatsindi said the street projects were a major boost to the economic development of the municipality. “Apart from the reduction of air pollution and the improvement of vehicle lifespan, the project will form a link in the transport network, resulting in easier accessibility of services in our municipality. Our economic development will obviously be a beneficiary of the project.”
“Service delivery is about delivering basic services such as water, electricity, quality housing, roads and other basic needs to the immediate communities. We have to make sure that our municipalities are fully and adequately staffed in order to provide excellent service. We can achieve more with the limited infrastructure at our disposal if we work together with a common goal of defeating unemployment and poverty,” Mutavhatsindi said. A total of 30 community members from Tshikota are set to benefit from the street rehabilitation project.
