STERLING GROUP Office Administrator ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and direct all visitors, including vendors, clients, job candidates and customers; Place, receive and route a high volume of calls through a switchboard. Supply information to callers, relay messages and announce visitors; Perform basic clerical tasks; operate basic office equipment; Maintain and replenish inventory. Anticipate needed supplies. Verify receipt of supply; Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing correspondence. Systematically arrange letters, memorandums and other indexed documents according to an established system;  Perform administrative duties for executive management;  Routinely re-order department supplies, and update mail/phone directories;  Check deadlines on incoming requests and put preliminary work in place;  When Managing Director chairs meetings: prepare agenda in advance, arrange meeting facilities, act as recording secretary (if necessary); prepare minutes of meeting;  Take part in any administrative meetings to assure secretarial follow-through;  Perform or assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions.  Co-operate in all matters relating to the proper functioning of the Company Quality, Environmental and OHSAS System.       

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  

Higher Education Minimum one year experience in similar position

COMPETENCIES: Technical: 

Well developed skills in MS Office Suite

The Center for Innovations in Education is announcing a vacancy for the position of part-time Academic Fellowship Program Azerbaijan Country Coordinator to be located in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Academic Fellowship Program (AFP) was founded in 2004 by the Open Society Foundations’ International Higher Education Support Program. The Academic Fellowship Program contributes to higher education development through support of promising local young scholars and their strategic placement at selected departments, committed to reforms and changes. International Higher Education Support Program promotes the advancement of higher education within the humanities and social sciences throughout the region of Central, Southeast and Eastern Europe, parts of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia.

Position summary The Country Coordinator will be an employee of the Center for Innovations in Education, a partner organization of Open Society Foundations, and will report directly to the AFP South 2

The Country Coordinator will be responsible for the management and implementation of the Academic Fellowship Program strategy in Azerbaijan; coordination of the recruitment, selection, and placement of fellows; university relations and cooperation with targeted partner departments; and all related program, administrative, and financial matters. Essential duties and responsibilities Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:  Communicate effectively with the AFP Budapest Headquarters and South Caucasus Region Manager on program strategy, financial, and reporting policies and obligations  be responsible for the implementation of all aspects of the program in Azerbaijan  Organize and support AFP fellows’ activities in Azerbaijan  Organize recruitment, interviewing, selection and placement for the Returning Scholars in Azerbaijan  Cooperate and actively participate in the regional projects and initiatives  Promote the program with partner institutions  be responsible for effective university relations: coordinate and support the process of identifying target AFP partner departments  Work closely with the AFP South Caucasus Region office to accommodate local needs in the regional strategy  Carry out financial and program reporting  Manage administrative, financial and other office related activities based on CIE policies and procedures Desirable qualifications-Education and/or training Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences and humanities and/or other relevant disciplines. Required qualifications 

Experience and/or understanding of the development of educational programs;

At least three years of experience in program management/coordination;

Experience and competencies in working in a multicultural environment;

Extensive program management and planning skills;

Fluency in Azeri and English languages;

Continuing with the original format, the program for MWU 11 will bring together local and international professors and students, providing an opportunity to learn and share experiences. Sustainable Architecture All courses will be taught by local and international professors and will be in English. Successful participants will gain an official Certificate of the Mitrovica Winter University which includes between 3 and 4 ECTS credits. The two-week courses are organized together with cultural excursions and a recreational program. In addition, public discussions, lectures and other interactive events on prominent issues in society will take place. MWU therefore offers you a unique opportunity to expand your academic knowledge and skills in different fields of study, while enjoying an exciting international atmosphere. Lectures and classes are free for all students. Participants who study in Mitrovica and students from South East Europe can apply for a scholarship, which covers accommodation and food. In addition, they will receive a one-time stipend covering their travel costs. International students from Western Europe and beyond are welcome to participate, but have to cover the cost of participation, i.e. travel, accommodation and food, themselves. US Embassy is seeking Azerbaijan’s Top Women Entrepreneurs The US Embassy in Baku is seeking AAA’s help in identifying good candidates to attend an Istanbul conference for women entrepreneurs. As many as 20-25 Azerbaijani women will be invited to the January 24-26, 2011, event, which will bring together women from across the region (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Cypress, Turkey, Greece) to provide training, create networking opportunities as well as enhance partnerships with professional organizations and the private sector. All costs associated with the conference will be covered by the Department of State. The working languages of the conference will be Turkish, Russian and English.

The criteria for participation are as follows: 1) Participants should be women entrepreneurs who lead small to medium-sized enterprises 6

The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is a non-degree, post-doctoral award program for junior and senior researchers, university lecturers and experts from academic institutions who wish to conduct post-doctoral research, lecture, or pursue combined lecturing and research in the United States.
