SOCIOLOGY OF CULTURE, MASTER'S The second-cycle Master’s programme in the Sociology of Culture covers an extensive spectrum of the social sciences, humanities, and theory, and is grounded in expanding knowledge from the selected fields of gender studies, media and cultural studies, religion, or globalisation studies. After having successfully completed their studies, students will have acquired knowledge that enables them to engage in independent leadership, manage organisation, and complete analyses and research of contemporary cultural phenomena. Special emphasis is placed on interdisciplinarity in the research and development of practical modes of cultural analysis for the requirements of a broad spectrum of organisations, institutions, media companies and publishing houses, consulting companies and agencies, public institutions, and non-governmental organisations.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Upon successful completion of study, students acquire the academic title of magister oz. magistrica sociologije kulture (mag. soc. kult.).*
Upon successful completion of study, graduates of the second-cycle Master’s programme in the Sociology of Culture are capable of working as independent publicists, cultural animators, and festival and other cultural events organisers, of participating in national, European, and international institutions, and of working for consulting agencies and with services that demand independence in the execution and organisation of work. Graduates are eligible for employment as radio and television show hosts, documentary filmmakers, consultants/mentors for cultural and art programmes, cultural pedagogues, producers/executives, producers/editorial producers, reviewers, film and electronic media redactors, editors, writers, journalists, cultural critics, festival producers, and post-producers.
