Z BRINGING PROM BACK TO LIFE

POST LOCKDOWN GLAMOUR POSITIVE VIBES & LOOKS

August 20 Issue 2

Vicky knight ACTRESS FRONTLINER FIGHTER

Z I think we can all agree that we have been fighters throughout this lock-down. We isolated ourselves for almost 4 months, some even longer. The everyday normal of seeing loved ones and going for a drink with friends became something that could put everyone at risk. But as all is slowly going back to normal, i think its important to congratulate ourselves on how far we have all come, and thank those that helped us to get here. To all of the front liners, supermarket workers, delivery helpers, care workers & everyone that hasnt been mentioned already. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you. - Zak Lee-Editor-

The Fairy PROMmother

With this year taking an unexpected turn. Our everyday life took a nose dive and all of our plans seemed to just disappear in a flash. One celebration was prom. With all of the dresses bought and the hair and makeup artists booked; This years prom season clouded over and the celebration was cancelled. Working as a makeup artist myself i had been excited for a full 2 weeks of working non stop making this prom year a memorable one. Working alongside Kelly nicholls at Blue Beau Boutique in Rayleigh, Essex really allowed me to see just how great prom season is. Its a massive rush of excitment and fashion overloads.Â

stepping up to the role, Blue Beau Boutique put out all of the stops to ensure prom would finally happen. She contacted local event companies, venues and helpers and found the beautiful location of The Rayleigh Club. Boasting acres of Golfing land and creating a V.I.P feel, Perfect for the stars of this years prom. I think it’s safe to say that Kelly took her work ethic to a new level this year and pulled out all of the stops.

Having styled hundreds of clients and boasting a 5* Boutique in the heart of Essex; Blue Beau Boutique had sold their last dress and was now preparing all of the alterations in time for the summer proms. With Covid hitting, Kelly didnt want all f of the beautiful gowns to go to waste and a memorable day to be forgotten. So, she began to set up her own prom.

No more hiding Vicky Knight, a name that will grace our screens from now, and in many years to come. A true story of how you can overcome anything if you trust in yourself.

Vicky knight grew up in Dagenham with her family, being just an infant Vicky was faced with a life changing event that saw her being trapped in a blaze that broke out at her grandfather’s Stoke Newington pub on the night of 27 July 2003. Vicky was saved by a local plumber who sadly passed 6 weeks following from his burns. The hospital and Vicky's family didn't think she would survive. But like the Vicky i have been blessed to meet, her fighting power shone through and she was discharged some months later. Being young and wearing 33% body scars made Vicky a target to the bullies, facing day in and day out of abuse for her image took its toll on her “i was self harming, I had got to the point where i didn't want to live with my scars anymore' she explained. Vicky was picked to go on to a show that she was told gave her the opportunity to find love. Having struggled with meeting someone, Vicky wanted a chance at finding someone for her. Little did she know that when the show aired it was the skeptical show 'too ugly for love'. A show that picked at her flaws and made them negative. The backlash of the show meant even more abuse was shot her way. Working for the NHS Vicky found a passion for helping people after seeing the care given to her during her tragic accident as a child, but it wasn't her passion, acting and being on the big screen was something that she longed to do but with the lack of confidence coming from not having 'the look' meant her dream career took a back seat. Having uploaded a 5 minute video of herself about her body scarring Vicky was seen by the casting director Lucy Pardee.

With the negative outcome of her previous TV experience, Vicky firstly ignored Lucy's messages to get her to audition. 'She contacted me in every way possible' she says. Eventually after close conversation and understanding on what Dutch director Sacha Polak, had in mind for Vicky she eventually agreed to come on board. Dirty God, which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance earlier this year, is a raw, searing, and at times darkly funny study of a woman desperately trying to rebuild her life and identity after an acid attack. The movie shows Vicky in a light that many people would have never seen her before, it shows her vulnerable and angry at the world that has been created for her. Being nominated for best actress alongside Renee Zellweger at the 2019 BIFA awards and nominated best newcomer by the BAFTA 2019 awards, Vicky is proving that having big dreams are always achievable with the passion and and fire from someone who didn't want to continue in life from the pain caused by her scars, to someone who is up on the big screen being admired by those learning about her life. 'Dream big and it will come true' Vicky knight you are an inspiration to all.

Its all in the eyes Changing the game one eye look at a time

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, face masks are becoming an everyday normal for all of us. The UK has introduced rules of not going to shops or completing certain daily activities unless having one on. Signs point to face masks remaining part of our everyday look for the foreseeable future. So what does that mean for our beauty looks moving forward then? Eyes will now be front and centre, which is how it should always be right? Aren't eyes the window to the soul? I believe so! so if that is the case then lets add a nice flower box and brighten then up. We have rounded up the best and most beautiful eye makeup looks from celebrity makeup artists to pair with face masks. Lets slay this!

@_Lucciax

I’ve always struggled with depression since I was 8. My own struggles made me very considerate of other people’s feelings because I never want anyone to go through what I have mentally, and so I’ve always been very caring (obviously I’ve made mistakes but I do try to be kind and considerate of others) A couple of years ago I discovered the law of attraction and manifestation which changed my mindset and my life using gratitude as well. In the past year I found my purpose which is to help others with different things such as goals/dreams, law of attraction etc., being kind, positivity, motivation and good mental health. In the beginning of lockdown I knew that a lot of people would be struggling mentally with everything going on for all different reasons, so I saw this as my opportunity to help as many people as I could with my LikeCopyReport.

Find Luccias new journal on her Instagram link.

started my dream sheets and would send them out for free every Monday to people who wanted them. I didn’t expect the response that I got, it was so amazing and I had people messaging me saying it’s inspired them to change their lives and mindset for the better. So decided to take my dream sheets to the next level and for months now I have been working on my very own dream journal which is going on sale Sunday 2nd August 11am. My journal includes goal setting, help with your dream career, anxiety help, going through tough times, self love/care, and your mindset. My goal is to carry on doing what I’m doing and taking it all to the next level.
