OR CHOOSE ODEWEAP

WHAT IS ODEWEAP? ODEWEAP is a state-of-the-art weapons system developed by Sequoia Weaponworks of Etoile Arcture. It uses the 6.2x43mm PCTA round that provides increased range over the 6.7x35mm round currently used by many ODECON nations while still being up to 33% lighter due to its polymer casing. ODWEAP will incorporate an assault rifle, a carbine, a light machine gun, a general purpose machine gun, a designated marksman’s rifle and sniper rifle, all in the same caliber.

WHY USE IT? The key to ODEWEAP is interoperability. Currently, ODECON troops serving together are lucky if they can borrow ammunition from a foreign soldier, much less a full magazine. With ODEWEAP, a Valipacian and a Zinairian, a Leistungi and a Santherese, a Sumguain and Adenian can all fight should-to-shoulder while using the same ammunition and magazines. However, ODEWEAP will also increase the effectiveness of a single troop or a non-multinational force. With lighter, more lethal ammunition and a state-of-the-art weapons system, ODEWEAP is more than a fair replacement for any rifle currently in ODECON service.

WHAT WILL IT COST? The capital cost of a new G590A rifle will probably be between $1,500 and $2,000. This is cheaper than many of the rifles already in service with ODECON forces, but we understand that it may still be out of reach for some governments. If this is the case, ODECON will provide funding to insure that all member states will have access to the appropriate number of ODECON weapons systems. Admittedly, there are also costs associated with familiarizing your troops with the new rifle, its operation and maintenance. However, your troops will thank you when they go into battle with a highly effective rifle and light-weight ammunition that allows them to carry 33% more. The capital costs pale in comparison to the long term benefits of simplified logistics, interoperability and increased effectiveness on the battlefield. The costs of ODEWEAP will be substantial, but they will be worth it.

ODEWEAP VS. CURRENT ODECON RIFLES Currently, almost every ODECON state uses a different rifle. Among seven ODECON nations polled, there were six different assault rifles in service, using five different rounds. Under the current system, there is almost no interoperability between ODECON forces while they are acting in concert. With ODEWEAP, soldiers would be able to share ammunition and magazines effortlessly and logistics would be greatly simplified. Is the G590 really the best rifle for the job though? The answer is a resounding yes.

Clearly, the G590 is the better rifle and this doesn’t even take into account that troops can carry up to 33% more 6.25x43mm PCTA rounds than any other round listed here. The conclusions of the Zinairian team that tested the original ODERIFLE (which is very similar to the G590) confirm that this is truly a topnotch peice of military equipment. Clearly, even while operating independently of other ODECON forces, the ODEWEAP improves the capabilities of the individual soldier and the fighting group as a whole.
