march 01 agenda and objectives This 5-day, interactive, advanced-level educational experience will cover state-of-the-art surgical case planning, effective and innovative regenerative procedures and techniques, simple-tocomplex implant surgeries (including live surgery demonstrations), and will culminate with comprehensive, current restorative procedures and techniques. Internationally known faculty coordinated by Program Chair Dr. Edgard El Chaar, NYU Clinical Assistant Professor, will highlight advancements within the field of dental research, the latest implant dentistry tools, products and resources, and offer practical solutions that help dental practitioners provide optimal, cost-effective oral rehabilitation outcomes for their patients.

“The Art and Science for Building a Successful Implant Case”

Dr. Georgios Romanos, DDS, DMD, PhD, Professor of Clinical Dentistry, University of Rochester; Director of the Unit of Laser Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Center, Rochester, New York

Dr. Hom-Lay Wang, DDS, MSD, PhD, Endowed Collegiate Professor of Periodontics, Professor and Director of Graduate Periodontics, University of Michigan, School of Dentistry Achieve predictable implant esthetics, longterm implant stability and avoid implant complications through careful treatment planning and management of the soft and hard tissues. Topics will include socket augmentation, allogenic block grafting, guided (sandwich) bone augmentation, sinus and ridge augmentation and other advanced surgical techniques. Lecture and case study presentations.

“Keys for Success in The Augmentation Procedures”

Learn practical considerations and selection of optimal grafting materials to help ensure success in regenerative procedures. Through lecture and case studies, this presentation will cover the biology and clinical management of the resorbed alveolar ridge. In addition, learn techniques to improve skills in several augmentation procedures including sinus elevation, the use of osteotomes and other augmentation modalities.

thursday “Gain More Confidence with Your Immediate Loading Cases”

Dr. Philippe Khayat, DDS, MSD, Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington (Seattle), Department of Restorative Dentistry; Past President, French Society of Esthetic Dentistry Obtain better primary implant stability and minimize bone resorption with immediate loading cases. The findings of a unique clinical study on the risks associated with immediate loading will be presented along with several simplified protocols to address this situation. In addition, learn simplified techniques to improve skills in immediate implant loading.

Dr. Tony Daher, DDS, MSEd, FACP, Associate Professor, Loma Linda University, Department of Restorative Dentistry Dr. Jaime Lozada, DDS, Professor, Director Graduate Program, Implant Dentistry, Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry Learn practical restorative tips to address the numerous clinical challenges faced in treating patients with partial or complete edentulism. Through case study presentations, a variety of treatment options and prosthesis designs will help outline a step-by-step simplified approach to provide final fixed or removable implant prostheses that meet patients’ expectations from an esthetic and functional perspective.

register NYU College of Dentistry International Implantology Week is open to all dentists throughout the world, including dentists from the United States. All programs are in English. Additional language translation may be provided. Each year, this special week (Monday through Friday) often attracts dentists from as many as 10 countries. While no hands-on laboratory sessions are included, participants learn from the experts through lecture, group discussions, and live and videotaped procedures and surgeries to enhance their learning experience. The registration fee is payable by US cash, traveler’s checks, or MasterCard/Visa credit cards in advance or at registration on Monday, March 1, 2010.
