Don’t miss this historic citadel, one of Oradea’s most significant heritage sites and a symbol of the city. Oradea's Fortress, as it is stands today, is a pentagonal Star Fort, with bastions on the corners and a moat. It was built between 1570 and 1618 by Italian architects, remaining one of the best preserved citadels of central Europe in the Renaissance style, and it was beautifully rehabilitated a couple of years ago. On the ground floor there is a permanent history exhibition where you can also see the uncovered foundations of a gothic cathedral. The upper floors and the reconstructed buildings in the yard are used for temporary exhibitions such as toy cars, photography techniques, traditional weaving or medieval costumes, etc. The fortress is surrounded by a pleasant park dotted with small ponds and benches.

The Oradea City Hall it's one of the city best known attractions. The City Hall Tower is located in the wing of the building facing the Tudor Vladimirescu street and has a height of about 50 m. The Tourist Information Center in the City Hall Tower of Oradea is the first tourist information point in Oradea created after 1989.
