Job Description Faculty Advisor Summary of Position The Role of the Faculty Advisor is to assist in the activities of the team through encouragement, advice, and guidance. The advisor is discouraged from micro-managing the team, though he/she is indeed the official head coach. The Faculty Advisor should, however, facilitate interactions between the team and the institution’s administration and may also assist with managing some activities of the team’s Business Advisory Board (BAB). Key Responsibilities  Provide mentorship to enactus members  Regularly attend enactus meetings, fundraising activities and outreach programs.  Provide guidance to the enactus team and evaluate competition presentations.  Prepare enactus students for competitions.  Serve as an advocate for the enactus organization on and off campus.  Ascertain that the enactus team has met all requirements.  Serve as the primary representative of the team with enactus Headquarters Assist the Team Board in program implementation. Serve as a link between the organization and university Serve as a campus contact person for issues pertaining to University Administration. Business Advisory Board Summary of Position Business advisory board shall serve as an asset for enactus BUE team. This group will provide mentorship and guidance for the team, advice on projects, An introduction of the team to other leaders in the community, access to needed resources, and critiques for your presentation before the actual competition.

Board of Consulting Summary of Position The consulting board shall give advises for the team heads and members in the planning and solutions for problems that need experience, this consulting board is chosen by the high board from the old enactus BUE members who are no longer in enactus,and only choosing the members who have the experience that will benefit the team .

President Summary of Position enactus BUE president work is presiding in facilitating and monitoring enactus BUE committee heads work and that the entire managerial job is on track.

Key Responsibilities           

Responsible for the overall operation Shall act as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors; shall preside at all meetings; shall see that the organization adheres to the rules and regulations and policies as set by enactus World Wide To steer strategic planning of the organization (i.e.: long-term goals, projects, etc.) Shall assure that each head is aware of the duties and responsibilities Shall bring all disputes and protests to the Board for consideration; shall appoint, audit and be a standing member of all committees but shall not be a chairman of any committee; Further, the President shall be the contact with all organizations outside University on matters that do not fall within the specific responsibilities of other Board members (Committee). Vice President Summary of Position The Vice President shall work together with the President to sustain the day-to-day operations. enactus BUE Vice-President Serves as President in absence of incumbent President to facilitate and monitor enactus BUE committee heads work and that the entire managerial job is on track.

Key Responsibilities    

Vice President shall see that the organization adheres to the rules and regulations and policies set By enactus WORLD WIDE. The Vice President will also assist the President on any special projects. Serves as President in absence of incumbent President. Reporting any information to the President in advance if unable to attend a meeting. Provide support to any number of projects or committees. Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of executive committees’ short-term and longterm goals with overall corporate objectives. Re-Auditing and monitor the committees progress reports and team accomplishments. Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate executives and managers while implementing their projects.


Public Relations Summary of Position The public relations head is responsible for representing the team in front of the university, other enactus teams and the hall community through events and working on making a better picture of the team which is based on our vision and needs and connect the project team with any needed governmental or non governmental structures needed in the project.

Key Responsibilities  A report need to be held every week; discussing every aspect in the project sustainability.  Fund-Raising Committee head is responsible for the team picture in the university and the society according to the team mission and vision.  Responsible for the media coverage of the team projects.  Responsible relationships or partnerships of the team and Building, developing, and growing any business relationships or partnerships vital to the success of the project.  Responsible of making events that would increase the team lovers and believers.  The public relations Committee head need to monitor and get involved with the project manager in order to finish their tasks accurately before the dead lines that they reported it to the president and the vice president.  A report need to be held every week; discussing every aspect in the tasks accomplishments.  Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and project leaders, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.  Plan, organize, schedule project timelines, direct, control and evaluate the projects.  Meet with team members on regular bases to discuss the requirements, costs and timelines.  Assist any team members or team leader.  Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

Fund-Raising Summary of Position enactus does not provide teams with funds to implement their projects. This means that teams are responsible to fundraise in order to execute their projects. Although this puts an added responsibility on the shoulders of the team, it will ultimately teach teams an invaluable lesson in life; “there is no such thing as a free lunch”. The process of fundraising will instill into the students qualities needed to be successful entrepreneurs and leaders. There will be failures and successes in this regard, but the team that learns from these experiences will walk away winning so much more than it bargained for. Key Responsibilities   

Media Summary of Position The Media head is responsible for representing the team in front of all other committees and university through all the multimedia projects that are accomplished during the year. Specially the preparation of annual report and Final presentation for the national competition. Key Responsibilities         

A report need to be held every week; discussing every aspect or needs of the media team. Media head is responsible for bringing up new motivational videos. The Media head need to get involved with the project managers in order to receive the tasks concerning the media and accomplish them before the dead lines. Operation Summary of Position Plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management activities of an organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance. Research and development Summary of Position Research and development is to search, lab research for projects and to make a financial visibility of each and every project and make a full report of every project and search for competitions that the team could attend which are meeting our projects criteria's Key Responsibilities        

A report need to be held every week; discussing every aspect of the projects. Responsible for searching for projects that would insure the team sustainability and maintain the team forward vision. Responsible for lab research of the project that needs the lab research to insure the project credibility. Responsible to make financial visibility for each and every project to make sure of the success of the project. Responsible to make a full portfolio reports of all of the project searched and research for to create a forward vision of the tem. will take a part in the project implementation. Projects Summary of Position The new projects head is responsible for implementing the newly introduced projects to enactus. Committee Head perform a range of tasks depending on the type of projects. Generally, the Committee Head manages the day-to-day planning, operation and problem-solving so that a team meets it required level of progress. Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for putting a working strategy for the committee in order to achieve the required targets. • Responsible with the vice to help the project managers in the planning for each project to help the project managers in setting timeline for each Project. The timeline of each project will be sent to operation to ensure that the project will finish accurately on time. • Responsible with the vice for monitoring all projects equally. • Responsible for motivating project managers and project members in the committee. • Responsible with the vice to help the project managers in the implementation phase. • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships or partnerships vital to the success of the project. • Responsible with the vice for creating cooperation between the project managers. Each project manager must be aware with the obstacles and progress in each project. • Responsible for solving any problem that may happen in the committee. • Responsible with the vice to cooperate with the other committees. • Responsible for helding a regular general meetings for project committee when needed

Projects Implementation When talking about a new vision for the team, the new vision of the projects implementing must be defined, because projects are enactus main purpose, projects vision must change concentrating on certain locations is a must to reach remarkable changes, and assure the team improving the quality of life and standards of living of the targeted group and to assure that the team resources are effectively employed.

Learn your team members’ individual interests and talents. Understanding the unique composition of your team will help in project selection. Some teams gather information on individual members through an informational form completed upon joining the team. Additional knowledge on whether or not they are engaged in volunteer networks, other associations, and/or simply know where there may be a need that enactus can fulfill are all valuable pieces of information. Based on individual skills and talents, you can then carefully coordinate project teams and ensure that talents of all team members are effectively employed. Outcomes desired and how to measure the project’s success in improving the quality of life and standard of living for others. The team must clearly identify the measurement tools that will be used. Additionally, a ‘wish list’ of outcomes-desired can be created. In regards to improvement in Quality of Life, which social, cultural, and emotional circumstances of the beneficiaries will the project influence? In regards to Standard of Living, which physical, financial, and environmental circumstances will be changed as a result? The ‘wish list’ here will strictly state the final life-changing outcomes that will.

Specific tasks and corresponding deadlines required for project completion. Once the planning phase is complete and timelines are set, teams can move forward with the implementation phase.

Main Advantages of the brainstorming sessions:

To teach the new members the concepts of Enactus and criteria of the projects. To get new ideas for projects. To raise commitment of the new members and improve their personal skills. Create the spirit between the new members and increase team work.

Main Disadvantages of the current brainstorming sessions:

1- Most of the ideas that results in the brainstorming are not strong enough. This is due to lack of experience of the new members. 2- Not all the new members gain the enough experience or skills during the brainstorming sessions and these mainly depends on the manager who is leading the session.

Alternative Solutions:

1- We will not begin with the brainstorming sessions. We will give the new members task or mission to explore our old projects and see our impact. This will have three advantages:  

Raising their commitment as they are seeing the impact directly. Teach them easily the concept of Enactus as there will be a open discussion after this task to talk about how this project affected the society and how this project meets the criteria of Enactus. Create the spirit between the new and old members. For example, the old members of Souq or Troos will discuss how they begin to implement the project. They will mention the obstacles that they faced in the stage of implementation and how they overcome these obstacles. This will create strong bond between members and raise commitment.

Other task will be not exploring but finishing the work in our old projects such as 16624 or campaign in Souq to convince the street venders to enter their booths. This will add another advantages that we will increase the impact of our old projects and finish some old projects that don’t need a lot of effort.

2- The managers of the committee will make brainstorming for new projects as they are qualified and have the enough experience to think in projects that can meet Enactus criteria. This will ensure reaching to strong ideas for projects. 3- There will be a brainstorming sessions for the new project members if needed. If we see that we need more ideas for projects, we will make brainstorming sessions but in more professional way. The style of the brainstorming sessions will be the same as style of our meetings that will be discussed later on in the plan.

They will provide mentorship and guidance for your team, advice on projects, an introduction of your team to other leaders in the community, access to needed resources, and critiques for your presentation before the actual competition and we are looking forward to increase our business advisors.

Public Relations Public relations started last year in redefining its vision and mission but we are looking forward for more, The blast that the public relations team would give the enactus BUE by the new vision and mission is the first step towards perfectness. Firstly the public relations team should work on increasing the publicity of the team in the university and delivering a full picture of the team achievements, projects, goals and spirit inside the university these missions will help the fund rising team and operation and logistics in completing their planed jobs. Secondly the public relations team should work on the media coverage of the team projects of the past year to increase the team engagement with community to increase the awareness of the community to enactus BUE's projects and the team it's self.

Which would increase enactus BUE community networks, would help connecting the team with Leading business, educational and civic organizations in the community who have the same goals and common purpose. The media coverage would also help in making a better picture about the team for the university.

Team Development A team is a living and dynamic entity. It could progress from an early to a mature phase, independent of the nature of the team. Our next phase is the performing stage. In this phase our team has achieved harmony, defined its tasks, worked out its relationships, and we should be producing results. Leadership will be provided by the team members best suited for the task at hand. Members have learned how to work together, manage conflict and contribute their resources to meet the team's purposes. We don’t aim to fix or build a particular team at a particular moment in time. We are working to create a deep connection of the dynamics of people working together to achieve success. A true team development focuses on individual action, feeling and accountability rather than on vague actions of team. Team Development benefits • Team members will maintain their improved effectiveness in the face of difficulties and continue to develop • Sustainable improvements in performance. Almost as certain as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, all teams go through stages as they develop. What does vary is how long each stage takes.

A team work is an individual member’s understanding about what is needed for a team to be successful. Each team member comes to a team with a predetermined picture of how teams work that is influenced by prior experiences.

How can you select the right team for a project? Having the right core team can make a great progress. Therefore, great care should be taken when selecting team members. Using the following elements we will be able to touch the improvements during the shortest time period.

• Team size • Keep your verbal and nonverbal language on the same page. This limits confusion. • Overall team composition • Team member selection and exclusion criteria • Compliment team members on good ideas and suggestions. • Member recruitment process Team size • Everyone has a chance to speak. Encourage team members to express opinions and share ideas.

Team size We were never aiming for large number of members who don’t actually have effective existence within the team. Recommended size is a team of 3-12 members in order to work faster and tend to produce results quickly. While creating sub teams to operate effectively. Overall team composition We will focus on a team well-rounded who includes a mix of members having a wide range of experience and skills. Our team member selection and exclusion criteria mainly depend on those people who are able to work well together for the project to succeed. Problem Solving

Decisions made by multiple individuals who openly share data, opinions, and experiences are almost always better, more teams to solve innovative, longer lasting decisions that those made by a single individual.It’s because of the diversity of experiences and opinions!

Problems come in many forms. Regardless of the form of the problem, our teams commonly did not know where to begin or how to proceed to solve it. Consequently, we choose to go through trial and error a little stumbling here and there they may try different approaches until something works or it doesn’t.

The process in some cases is harder because team members see things differently. But if everyone thought the same way, then the decision would not be very innovative at all. By talking about it, the team will be exposed to new possibilities.

In organizations problem-solving which is a daily activity in our teamwork which we start finding solution by our selfs depending on our personal experiences. As a team of number of members each of us have a different background built upon what problems we have been exposed to before and as a result we develop our skills but in order to before efficient and time consuming.

This process either Compromise or Consensus, our team always used to compromise to find a solution which satisfies most of the members but, I chose to use the consensus technique. What is a Compromise? A compromise is one way of arriving at a decision that everyone involved can accept. The benefit to compromising is that it is expedient and allows the team to move on to the next task. The problem with compromising is that the outcome doesn’t meet anyone’s expectations. Still, some members are satisfied with it than the others. As a result, not everyone is 100% committed to the solution, so not everyone will work towards implementing the decision. When decisions are determined by majority or authority, those who dissent lose their commitment.

A methodology that teams frequently use is the Seven Steps of Problem Solving. This framework helps a team to figure out not only where to start but also where to touch base whenever it encounters an obstacle. Step1 : Identifying the Problem Knowing what is exactly the problem by eliminating any distractions . Step 2: The Current Process What did we reach till this problem came up? What should be the next step? What kind of delay affected us?

What is Consensus? Step 3 : Identify the root cause In a consensus, the various points of view of each member of the team are considered, discussed, compared, and discussed again until everyone sees all views from the top. We might not all agree on the same decision, but it is important that all team member opinions are all heard. The benefit to building consensus when making a decision is that everyone buys into the solution. This means that all team members will work towards making that solution work. The key to consensus building is steering the discussion away from “right versus wrong” arguments.

During the next year we will be working with different entities wither NGOs or Sponsors. In order to gain their trust we will be working on creating a professional

Steps were already taken to start our powerful partnership. We were able to set a deal with rochester institute of technology (located in New york, USA) where Engineering enactus students started working on a research project for finding a solution to offer the basic needs which is low cast and can be implemented at the poorest areas in our society. These students are not just provided with support from University Professors but also they have started having a workshops at the rochester institute of technology, and setting a deal with north carolina state university entrepreneurship lab where our business students will increase their business skills where they will be able to help with this new experience and skills in implementing our projects. Academy Of Scientific Research and Technology which is ready to fund our projects which have scientific researches with millions of pound Also we were able to contact two of the biggest and oldest organizations in Egypt Masr El Kheir and Bank al t3am. They were willing and provided us with their full support, As for Masr El Kheri they we'r working with them since last year in al fayom in electrovoltex project and we will continue working with them in fayom and other projects which will meet enactus criteria ,as for bank al t3am they are willing to fund a lot of our projects for this year.


Winning Enactus special competition Aiming and working on wining first place at enactus Egypt special competitions as they represent a source of fund for our team and add's to enactus BUE's history.

Other Special competitions Enactus BUE has to get benefits from their projects more than that Enactus Egypt gives so this year Enactus BUE is registering in other competitions which Enactus BUE's project criteria's fits in the competition judging criteria. Winning those competitions would increase the team motivation, publicity and getting support from the university administration. Losing in worst cases would increase the team experience and negatively affect the team

National Competition Enactus bue has reached it's performing stage, winning the national competition again is a goal that we would never accept less than. We have a strong team that is ready win it again, and this year made it a lot easier when you’re the champion it's much easier to do more co operations and partnerships which will help our team in to becoming stronger.
