Persona HELLO! I AM PETRA.
My persona - Petra, 25, used to study in the CAA. She decided to have a long trip alone in Japan so she had to pay more attention to planning her own travel schedule. Petra noticed that it was too difficult for her to plan this schedule. She wanted to have some help.
Product concept With this app, you don’t need to search information about traveling in Japan any more. If you have a plan to travel around Japan, then use this app. It will remind you of all tips, no matter whether you have not yet started or have already embarked on you journery. This app is just like a personal notebook so you can also update your own feeling and photos on it.
Target audience Our target audience is all of the travelers who want to have a wonderful trip in Japan.
Ideation + visioning I found that there are many people fond of writing down their feelings on a notebook when they are traveling. Therefore, there are a great number of travel guide books. I decided to combine these functions on an app.
Paper prototype I sketched out multiple versions of Journal-Japan app on paper. I mainly wanted to test out the general concept of using an app to search travel guide. Additionally, a physical prototype allowed me to express our ideas clearly to my end users and gain their feedback on what features worked and what did not.
