INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE ANTALYA
“ÖTEKI“ / “THE OTHER” EXPERIMENTAL SPACE DESIGN SITE // KALEICI, ANTALYA EISENMAN ARCHITECTS When EAA was invited to the International Architecture Bienanle in Antalya in 2013, I was the main designer for the ‘experimental space’ design. Kaleici is the historic city center in Antalya. It was confined within castle walls and still have structures from the Roman era. Our space aims to reflect the history of Kaleici and how it has changed, with the composition of digital films of people, views and abandoned buildings of Antalya and some historical objects that were collected from locals that live in Kaleici. Our site is a basement that does not have any light and different pockets of spaces that we chose the occupy with projection screens and the objects. One of the films include a women at the age of 85 and who have been living her apartment since she was born, which we both visited and recorded.
