Service & Philanthropy Giving freely of time and resources to assist others
directly from The Creed—Being Rather Than Seeming and Seeking Understanding that We Might Gain True Wisdom—and key words that Zetas identified as important to them—Humility, Leadership, Lifelong Learning, Love, Loyalty & Commitment, Responsibility, and Service & Philanthropy. Collegians completed the assessment online during the spring 2016 semester with an incredible response rate, especially for an electronic survey. When Josh shared the final assessment analysis, he discovered that the key values serve as strong predictors of a meaningful and high-quality ZTA experience. Each of the values connects to at least half of the other positive experiences also measured in the survey, and they are strongly related to one another. The results show that ZTA members’ development was above a 3.5 level in each of the key value areas, with over a 4.0 in most areas. ZTA collegians display devotion to our organization and members, go above and beyond what is expected, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, are willing to apply previous learning experiences to new challenges, give freely of their time to assist others and seek opportunities to raise awareness of community needs.
