London’s food news and delicious things to see you through April By MIRIAM CAREY
By BERRY BROS. & RUDD
2014 Berry Bros. & Rudd Rioja by Bodegas Amézola de la Mora £11.95 Bodegas Amézola de la Mora vineyards, planted with Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano, benefit from a high altitude and cool climate, yielding elegant, classic wines packed full of harmonious red berry and vanilla flavours.
2016 Chablis, Domaine Sébastien Dampt £19.50 The sort of wine that there should always be a bottle of on-hand in the fridge. This isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel – crisp green apple, lemon wax and honeysuckle florals deliver a fresh flavour and lovely texture.
Berry Bros. & Rudd Cremant de Limoux by Antech £12.25 A blend of 70 percent Chardonnay and 30 percent Chenin Blanc and Mauzac. This is a beautiful, balanced wine, with elegant aromas of orchard fruit and honeyed spice.
BERRY BROS. & RUDD Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain's oldest wine and spirit merchant, having traded from the same shop since 1698. Today the company also has offices in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, a Wine School and an exclusive fine wine and dining venue in St James's.
