Street Feast Haggerston’s night market is

almost a phenomenon in itself: having moved from studios to a large courtyard space for the summer, it’s home to some of the city’s best-loved pop-ups (including The Ribman and Kimchi Cult) and a vibrant Friday-night food-fest. Local restaurant Rotary Bar & Diner provides a cocktail bar, but it’s the hundreds of happy, hungry guests who make the event so successful. Running weekly throughout June and free to enter, we advise you to visit earlier in the evening – later on, the queues can be forbidding. 317-319 Kingsland Road, E8; streetfeastlondon.com
BAO East London trio Shing,
Ting and Er started Bao in 2012, serving up traditional Taiwanese xiao chi (small eats) to discerning punters in Kentish Town and Hackney. They specialise in gua bao, a steamed pork bun, but this summer are shacking up at Netil Market and set to introduce bao bing, a dessert. Involving topping sweet treats like fruit, red bean and ice cream with shaved ice produced using a special drill-like machine, we’re already drooling… baolondon.com
Fin & Flounder Moments from Mare
Street, Fin and Flounder is perched at one end of Netil Market’s bustling ‘Shack Alley’. Fin and Flounder gives the classic fishmonger a distinctly modern face, plating up tasty marine morsels for the Saturday crowds. Traditional fish and chips and lobster-in-abox are firm favourites, and all their seafood is fresh-caught and ethically sourced. finandflounder.com 51
