34 30.4.1982 Palermo Pio La Torre, segretario del PCI siciliano e Rosario Di Salvo, militante, autista e guardia del corpo di La Torre, trovano la morte a causa dell’attività politica del dirigente comunista. Pio La Torre era stato promotore di un disegno di legge che avrebbe consentito ai giudici di indagare sui patrimoni bancari delle cosche mafiose. Dopo la morte del prefetto di Palermo Dalla Chiesa, il suo disegno di legge sarà ripreso dal Ministro Rognoni diventando la Legge Rognoni-La Torre. I killer a bordo di una moto e una macchina si affiancano al veicolo guidato da Rosario Di Salvo. Vengono sparati una trentina di colpi di pistola calibro 45 contro Pio La Torre e il suo autista, uccidendoli sul colpo.
Pio La Torre, leader of the Sicilian PCI (The Sicilian Communist Party) and Rosario Di Salvo, activist, driver and bodyguard of La Torre, met their deaths for the cause of La Torre’s political activities. Pio La Torre had been promoting a bill that would have allowed the judiciary to investigate the financial assets of the Mafia clans. After the death of the prefect of Palermo, Dalla Chiesa, his bill would eventually be put through by the Minister, Rognoni, becoming the Law “Rognoni-La Torre”. The killers, on a motorbike and in a car, come abreast of the vehicle driven by Rosario Di Salvo. At least thirty bullets from a .45 calibre gun are fired at Pio La Torre and his driver, killing them instantly. 28.5.1982 Palermo Mario Alonzo, idraulico. Secondo la Polizia era legato alla cosca di Leopoldo Cancelliere. Viene ucciso di fronte a una bottega di Borgo Vecchio, un quartiere di Palermo. Due killer gli arrivano alle spalle e gli sparano con pistole calibro 7,65. Al momento dell’omicidio, sul posto sono presenti più di un centinaio di persone, ma “nessuno ha visto nulla”.
Mario Alonzo, a plumber, was linked (according to the police) to the Mafia gang of Leopoldo Cancelliere. He is killed in front of a shop in the “Borgo Vecchio”, an old district of Palermo. Two killers come up behind him and shoot him with 7.65 calibre guns. In that moment in the place where it happened there were more than a hundred people, but “nobody saw anything”.
