We LOVE How can eating sugar affect you? How can eating sugar affect you? Eating too much sugar can have many negative health effects. Excess sugar such as candy, soda, chocolate, and deserts lead to weight gain. Also, sugar is simply calories so it can increases your blood sugar. Some of the effect of eating sugar is that it can damages your heart, brain, and so many more organs! Excess amounts of sugar can affect your arteries. Over the time this in its turn will affect your heart making its walls thicker and lose its elasticity too.Researches states that eating less sugar can help lower blood pressure. Those are only some of the many effects of eating sugar. The list however doesn't stop here. Some of the effects of eating sugar is that it can damage your brain. Eating sugar gives your brain a chemical called dopamine and it gives you “feeling good” feeling. So, your brain starts to need more and more sugar to get the same feeling of pleasure. So that will cause more damages to your body. That’s why you should tame your habit so it doesn’t affect you more. In conclusion we can deduct that excess sugar is bad for you. So, you have to tame yourself not to eat excess sugar like: candies, deserts, and chocolate. Always remember your health is so much more important. Draw like a pro Drawing makes me happy. I want my drawings to be beautiful, so I want to learn to draw like a pro. In order to do this, I need to draw a picture every day so I can improve my skills. Also, I can join an art class or watch YouTube channels about drawing. I think my parents will encourage me to develop my skills in drawing by providing me with materials and drawing substances. After three to five months, I hope my drawing will be neat and nice looking. However, if I fail to do this, I will not give up. I will keep practicing more and more until one day, I will be able to draw anything and everything. By achieving this, I would be very happy and proud of myself. Who is the person you aspire to be? The person I most look up to is my favorite author J. K. Rowling. She is a British author, film producer, and much more. She is well known for writing Harry Potter series which has sold more than 500 million copies. She inspires me a lot because before she published Harry Potter, she was very poor and depressed. When she decided to send her manuscript to many publishers, they all rejected and hated it. She began losing confidence and hope in her books, but finally after many more rejections, the publishing house “London Bloomsburyâ€? (a small London publisher) gave it a second chance. Her books since then sold over 500 million copies making her one of the richest women on the planet, they had indeed transformed her life completely! She went from being a jobless single mom to the best selling author in the world. I also like how even though she started to lose hope in her books she never gave up even during the hard times when she got 60 rejections. Laura's Party Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a little girl named Laura, she loved cats. One day her mom and dad had a party for her because she got full marks. As usual, her friends brought her a lot of gifts. Her mom and dad didn’t bring her a gift, so Laura was disappointed. Laura thought, “I’m so sad. How could my mom and dad not bring me a gift and I am their only daughter?” While her friends were having fun and enjoying the party, Laura sat sadly by her-self in the corner. Her mom saw her sitting sadly and disappointedly questioned herself, “Why is Laura sad and this is her party? She should be happy and not sad at all.” Laura’s mom asked Laura, “Hey my beautiful daughter, why are you sad?” Laura sadly said, “It’s your only daughter’s party and you didn’t bring me a gift?” Her mom kindly said, “Your gift is a secret. When the party is over, your dad and I have prepared a lot of gifts for you.” Then Laura was happy. Finally, the party was over and Laura excitedly said to her mom, “Mom, mom the party is over, can I see my presents?” Laura’s mom teased her that she wouldn’t be getting the gifts. She was just joking, and within 10 seconds she told Laura that she was just kidding. Laura’s mom and dad brought Laura a lot of gifts. Laura’s mom gave Laura a paper with directions on it. She was sending Laura on a scavenger hunt to fi find her gifts. This is what the paper said Step1 Go to your room and on your desk will be a piece of paper. Step2 Go to your mom and dad’s room and you will see some clothes that you always wanted, put those clothes on. Step3 Go to the living room, your dad will be there. He will take you to some places that you really like. Laura did all the steps. After she and her dad finished and came home, Laura’s mom saw her with a big fat box. Her mom asked, “Hey sweetie, what’s inside this big box?” Laura repeatedly exclaimed, “It’s a cat! It’s a cat!” Laura thanked her mom and dad and told them how much she enjoyed the gift. Laura learned to be patient before getting sad about anything. Awrad Abdulaziz Al – Onaizi Grade 4 green Supervising teacher: Ms. Umbreen Farooq

When I First Learned To Ride My Bike I remember the first time I rode my bike, and it was hard. However, my father was with me and helped my go along. My father told me not to put my feet on the ground as I ride, and he told me to stay straight and not to steer right or left. My first time was a failure and I fell on the floor. The second time was a little tough, I fell again and this time blood was coming out. I washed the blood off and moved along. This time, my father helped me by pushing me on my bike as I kept my legs up. My father slowly began to push me faster until he eventually let go. This is when I began cycling on my own. After this I began to cycle without anyone’s help. Abdullah Al-Halabiya Grade 4 Red Supervising teacher:Ms. Umbreen Farooq

Plastic

Savant syndrome

Look around you, can you see any single-use plastic? Most places now days contain single-use plastic for many reasons, but what many people don’t know is that there are negative effects for using these products on our environment and planet! We should all try to find solutions and know what is going on because of plastic, or specifically single-use plastic. The causes for using plastic are several. The biggest reason is that plastic is cheap, so many companies, shops, and countries see that it is easier and cheaper to use plastic rather than using more expensive, but safer materials and products. Plastic is also light weighted so some people prefer buying a plastic object because it is lighter and easier to use, but what they don’t realize is that they are causing harm to themselves and to their environment too. The biggest effect of plastic is plastic pollution, which is when plastic is gathered in an area and has a negative impact on natural environments. Plastic is sometimes made from toxic chemicals or compounds that causes illnesses which makes it sometimes poisonous and dangerous when in use. Plastic also causes air pollution when being burned by releasing poisonous gases that affects humans, and may cause respiratory system problems. Plastic doesn’t only affect humans negatively it also affects animals, oceans, and natural environments. As we all have seen many animals being killed by plastic on television or maybe in real life, there were no serious procedures to prevent that from happening again. Plastic also affects oceans negatively. "Nature. com" released a report about The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, which is located between California and Hawaii, and is one of the 5 major garbage patches in the ocean, has grown to 600,000 square miles, it is estimated to contain about 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic and to weigh 88,000 tons! These garbage patches and plastic pollution harm nearly 700 species in the ocean and affects humans. In conclusion, we should all be aware of plastic and plastic pollution. There are some procedures and solutions to prevent plastic pollution from increasing and causing even more harm. Some solutions are eco friendly shop, which means that instead of all the plastic bags that are being used while packing the things you bought you can buy a big bag to put what you bought in instead of many plastic bags. Another solution is to get rid of single-use plastic bottled water and use stainless steel water bottles instead, to help in preventing and stopping plastic pollution. I wish we all try to find and use environment friendly products instead of plastic!

What is intelligence? Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Intelligence does not only mean being smart and wise because some people have intelligence in a different way and area. Some of the different types of intelligence are spatial intelligence, logical mathematical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and many more. There are also some types of syndromes that make a person different and unique one of these syndromes is savant syndrome. Savant syndrome is a very rare condition where a person that lacks emotion and intelligence has gifts in different areas. Some of these areas are mathematical, mechanical, artistic abilities, and map making. People who have savant syndrome mostly excel in memory skills. One example of mathematical gifts is that they can calculate big numbers faster than a normal human can. Mechanical gifted people can repair machines and other things without training themselves which is not a normal thing for a human since they must learn to do things. Although they have all these amazing gifts, they lack social interactions and expressing their emotion through words. They have their own way of saying what they see and feel. Savants have difficulty in saying how they feel through words, so they associate feelings with numbers, colors, shapes, and even drawings because they find it easier to express their feelings in this way. One example is that some of them might think of the number six as the color black or a black hole or they think that people look like certain numbers. They also associate numbers with colors just like how Daniel Tammet said in his novel Blue Nines and Red Words” I was born on January 31st, 1979—a Wednesday. I know it was a Wednesday, because the date is blue in my mind and Wednesdays are always blue, like the number 9 or the sound of loud voices arguing.” They also find peace when they have anxiety or go through a hard situation by thinking of numbers and sometimes colors and shapes. They relieve their stress in this way just like how some people think of complicated equation like 64 times 75 to make their brain think of something else. In conclusion, people have different types of intelligence because intelligence does not have one type it is when a person can apply skill and knowledge. A person can have social intelligence but can also lack learning intelligence. In the end we are all equal and nobody is perfect. Moreover, never feel discouraged that you don’t have the same type of intelligence as others because you are good in a different area even if you haven’t found that area yet.

Mathematical Algebra Why is it called Algebra? Why is Algebra so important? What are basic Algebra skills? The word algebra comes from the Arabic ‫( الجرب‬Al-Jabr lit. "the restoring of broken parts") from the title of the book cIlm al-jabr wa l-muqābala "The Science of Restoring and Balancing" by the Persian mathematician and astronomer al-Khwarizmi

Algebra is critically important because it is often viewed as a gatekeeper to higher-level mathematics and it's a required course for virtually every postsecondary school program,” he says. ... The first year of algebra is a prerequisite for all higher-level math: geometry.

-Simplify radical terms. -Arithmetic operations on radical terms. -Products and quotients in scientific notation. -Solve algebraic problems. -Evaluate factorials, absolute values, and exponential expressions. -Factorials. -Imaginary and complex numbers. -Repeating decimals to fractions.

TIPS FOR STUDENTS Example

(1) Keep energy levels high Sleep 7 - 9 hours so you can be more alert and energized (2) 50 – 10 rule Study 50 minutes of every hour and spend 10 minutes clearing your mind (3) Organize your calendar Designate time for studying, free time, and exam times (4) Make study guides Begin preparing and making study guides one week before the exam (5) Study in groups But only if it helps you, don’t let it be a distraction (6) Take your time Plan ahead and take your time studying (7) Exercise Let off steam and clear your mind, an active mind is more productive (8) Relax Keep your stress levels low and worry less (9) Do a practice quiz Ask friends to quiz you on subjects that are difficult (10) Eat healthy Your body will feel better and you will be more alert Asmaa Almudhaf Grade 5 green Supervising teacher:Ms.Ola El-Sayed

Plant Maze

Get a shoe box and cut a hole on the top right corner, where sunlight can come through. Put a pea plant at the bottom of the box. Now cut slits on the sides and place cardboard pieces. Now you should end up with a plant at the left corner and cardboard pieces that lead you to the hole on top which has sunlight. With time the plant will grow through the pieces of cardboard and in 3 weeks’ time your plant maze is done. Dareen AlshaheenGrade 7 yellow Supervising teacher:Ms.Ola El-Sayed

Have you ever wonder why math is not appreciated by children? In this article we will find out if people like or dislike math, and why? The experiment will include people between the ages (9-50 years). When most people first think of mathematics or the word “Algebra;” they don’t get too excited. Many people tend to say “I hate math!” But in reality, the big question they ask is “When are we ever going to use it in our lives?” In fact, we are using math every day in our daily lives without knowing. For instance, figuring out the distance between one place and the other, shopping for a good price, or even while cooking, you use math to check quantities, without even knowing you are doing so. As a result, from the survey, I found out that many of the children in primary school don’t like math, with the response “math is boring, hard, complicated and not fun while working.” From secondary students their response was “it is fun solving equations and puzzles; some also enjoy calculating numbers. On the other hand, adults say that it’s important in our daily lives and it helps improve brain functions. From my personal experience with mathematics, I realized a huge difference in my attitude towards to subject from when I was younger and now. My perspective towards this subject has changed greatly. When I was a child math was really complicated for me, I used to struggle a lot while calculating numbers mentally and solving equations. When I grew up and went to middle school, I realized that it’s really fun calculating and solving puzzles. I started to get very excited to solve higher level questions. I’m also convinced and satisfied that we actually do need math and calculating numbers in our daily life. It also makes the brain function well and enhances your analytical and problem-solving skills. In conclusion, I would confidently like to mention that mathematics is vital in every person’s life. It enables the person to have an open mind on how to solve problems. A person can approach problems using math in many different ways. One step at a time and you will get it eventually. It will become easier with more and more practice. It will not take a person forever to approach success in mathematics, especially if they have a passion for learning new math skills. Why people should not like Mathematics? What is math? Mathematics is the science that deals with the logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. (livescience.com) To know mathematics is a world itself. A world that shows people how to collect data for analysis purposes, to collect data for analysis and how to get percentages, and a lot more. Mathematics made many things that are necessary in the modern life exist, but how did it begin. The beginning of mathematics goes to the year 3000 BC. Many countries used mathematics, like geometry and algebra, for their taxes and trading systems. The study of mathematics as a "demonstrative discipline" began in the 6th century BC with the Pythagoreans, who coined the term "mathematics" from the ancient Greek(mathema), meaning "subject of instruction". (Wikipedia.org) From that time till now mathematics has developed, and new things got introduced. Are rules the only thing math introduced? Mathematics especially calculus is so essential for physics. One of the famous physicists in history is Albert Einstein, and he introduced the link between mass and energy. Another physicist is Nikola Tesla, who is one of the founding fathers that contributed greatly to electrical current systems and revolutionized the world of the modern-day technology. These are just some people that were successful in math, but does math really make you smarter. Mathematics has many ways of asking a quest ion. It can be an equation a graph and a word problem. Word problems really make you think and it has tricks to make you get to another level of smartness. One reason why people who learn more mathematics earn more is because doing math makes you smarter and more productive. (economist.com) Is that all that mathematics provides? It is clear that mathematics really influences a person in a mental way. Mathematics provides a person in a lot of things in life. It can help some get a better job, and a better life. After all the things mathematics does do people still like it. It gives a person a whole new outstanding life. People should not like math, they should love it! Abdullah Alhussaini Grade 10 Blue Supervising teacher:Mr. Mohamed El-Khashab

Why Do Students Struggle With Math? Math is a global language that can become very confusing as the content continues to stretch with more complicated skills. Difficulties in math can occur in many ways. Some struggling math learners will have difficulty remembering basic mathematical skills. This may be due to not mastering the appropriate skill level at an early age. Some students will struggle with making connections between numbers and the quantities they represent. Also, understanding how symbols relate directly to the math can be a difficult concept to understand. Finally, many students who struggle understanding math often times do not know the language. The language of math includes symbols, word problems, and verbal explanations that are not an everyday use for many young students who struggle. Math is abstract, not always substantial, and multi-computational. Because math builds on itself, the importance of mastering skills as a student learns them is the top goal. Like most things, students will master these levels at different times. Therefore, teachers must decide on appropriate help for their students. Offering multiple opportunities for students to learn can influence their success.

Mathematics

Can anyone be as good as a genius in mathematics? Well, with excessive training and mastering the skills, you could be really good because Mathematics is easier than most people think. It is a little bit complex due to the memorization of formulas and the countless concepts it has, but as long as you learn and apply, you’re doing great and hopefully you can reach the level of fluency and skill you want to achieve. There are some people who you think they are good because they calculate fast. You can be as good as them because what matters the most is the steps and the final answer. There is no problem at all if someone is faster because at the end, he is following the same steps and will get the same answer, so don’t feel ashamed. However, the key into getting better in understanding the concepts in mathematics is practicing. In addition, some of the tips that could help you get better are: doing all your homework, not missing class, analyze and understand every mistake, ask questions etc. “Mathematics is not about the numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding.” (Paul Halmos) Mohammed Al - Amer Grade 10 Blue Supervising teacher:Mr. Mohamed El-Khashab

Math

In this article we’ll find out the best activities that helps the students learn or revise the math skills in a fun way in which they’re satisfied in. Normal students finds Math a subject which is heavy to focus in because it has many rules and skills that each student must follow in each equation step by step. Math is a unique subject that is different from other subjects; each lesson is connected to the other. In this case, each student has certain circumstances that sometimes would affect him in focusing, and what they need is a revision usually a revision is borning for some students. The thing that is effective in this case is a fun activity related to the lesson. Fun activities are a lot and easy to choose and this is the best way to check If the student is focusing or not; if not this will help the student revise or study what he didn’t understamd and ask the teacher. A compition with some equations and multiple choices would be the best activity. A competition would build the student leadership skills in which the student is planning to win. Choosing a competion with multiple choices is the best way to give the student a chance if he tried. There are many websites that help and has these choices. For example, Khan Academy and Quizizz. What activities should we do in class? There are some activities that teachers can do in order to boost the students’ performance in class. One of the ways is by making challenging activities between the students. This kind of activities can make the student more efficient in class, helps him understand the lessons and practice more until he masters the new skill. It can get the class out of the listening mode and make them interact with the teacher and with each other more. It is very beneficial for the students and very fun at the same time.

Some of these activities that we can make use of in math classes are Khan Academy and Quizzes. Utilizing these resources will help the student solidify what they have learned during class in a challenging and fun way. Students can be arranged in groups, this way strengthening their team work skills. In conclusion, by using this kind of activities you are teaching the students to cooperate, to have fun even when they are learning and to practice their lesson, all at the same time. Improving In Math Math is a tough subject to learn, many people struggle learning it. To improve in anything, you need to practice two different types of thinking. The first way of thinking is focused learning. This type of learning is used to acquire a new skill in a certain field, for example multiplication in math. In focused type of thinking a person must really concentrate on the subject he is learning, as stated this type of learning is used for people who want to learn a new skill. The second type of thinking is diffused thinking, which is used for practice and refresh previously learned skills. For example, it can be used to solve equations. Diffused thinking does not require the same amount of concentration as much as focused thinking. Diffused thinking lets your mind wander while you practice. This type of thinking makes the skill you are practicing imprint in your brain, so you don’t forget it easily. To improve in math, you need to use these different types of thinking. How to Improve Your Math Skills?

1 2 3

Have you ever wondered how can you improve your math skills? Math is a bit of an obstacle for most of the students. After reading this article, I believe you will be able to improve in math just by following three simple steps. 1- First you should dedicate yourself and commit to improve your math skills. This resolution is an important factor when you want to start anything or want to improve a skill in a specific thing. Don’t forget that commitment and perseverance will be the motivation that will help you overcome laziness and procrastination. 2- Then, you need to practice every day from 30 min to 1 hour. As everybody knows, the key to improve your math skill is to practice. Math is one of the subjects that require practice. You can practice math by completing the exercises in your work book, homework, or by using Khan academy website which has a bank of exercises for most math lessons and courses. 3- Finally, if you want to improve your math skills, you need to focus in your class when the teacher explains the lesson. Getting the information from your teacher is better than trying to make sense of the lesson by yourself. Learning the concepts at home, because you didn’t focus enough in class, may lead to understand the material with difficulty. Also, you need to pay special attention during tests because some tricky questions may lower your marks which will waste all the hard work you made. In conclusion, dedication, concentration, and practice, will help you improve in math. So, make sure you follow these steps precisely and you will improve, always remember that “hard work pays off”. I believe if you will follow these three easy steps you will become one of the best mathematicians in your class! Abdalrhaman AlOsaimi Grade 10 Blue Supervising teacher:Mr. Mohamed El-Khashab

WE ENJOY P.E The health benefits of sport and physical activity Research interest on physical activity and health dates back to the 1950s, and the scientific evidence on health benefits of physical activity largely took place during the 1980s and 1990s. There is an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence on the positive effects of sport and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. The positive, direct effects of engaging in regular physical activity are particularly apparent in the prevention of several chronic diseases, including: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, depression and osteoporosis. The Report from the United Nations Inte Agency Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace states that young people can benefit from physical activity as it contributes in developing healthy bones, efficient heart and lung function as well as improved motor skills and cognitive function. Physical activity can help to prevent hip fractures among women and reduce the effects of osteoporosis. Remaining physically active can enhance functional capacity among older people, and can help to maintain quality of life and independence.

Physical activity and psychosocial health The WHO estimated that “one in four patients visiting a health service has at least one mental, neurological or behavioral disorder, but most of these disorders are neither diagnosed nor treated. A number of studies have shown that exercise may play a therapeutic role in addressing a number of psychological disorders. Studies also show that exercise has a positive influence on depression. Physical self-worth and physical self-perception, including body image, has been linked to improved self-esteem. The evidence relating to health benefits of physical activity predominantly focuses on intra-personal factors such as physiological, cognitive and affective benefits, however, that does not exclude the social and inter-personal benefits of sport and physical activity which can also produce positive health effects in individuals and communities.

Sport and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle A number of factors influence the way in which sport and physical activity impacts on health in different populations. Sport and physical activity in itself may not directly lead to benefits but, in combination with other factors, can promote healthy lifestyles. There is evidence to suggest that changes in the environment can have a significant impact on opportunities for participation and in addition, the conditions under which the activity is taking place can heavily impact on health outcomes. Elements that may be determinants on health include nutrition, intensity and type of physical activity, appropriate footwear and clothing, climate, injury, stress levels and sleep patterns. Sport and physical activity can make a substantial contribution to the well-being of people in developing countries. Exercise, physical activity and sport have long been used in the treatment and rehabilitation of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Physical activity for individuals is a strong means for the prevention of diseases and for nations is a cost-effective method to improve public health across populations.

ART Ghars Art 2019/2020 Art is a way of making and communicating the meaning through imagery, using unique, symbolic language with elements of art. It is a natural and enjoyable way of extending and enriching the student’s experience of the world. Ghars Art and our visual arts activities enabled students to make connections between the imaginative life and the world around them and to organize and express ideas, feelings and experiences in visual form, with elements of art. In drawing, painting, constructing and inventing, the students assimilate and responds to their experience and try to make sense of it in artistic way. Through exploring, investigating, experimenting, inventing, designing and making in a range of different media, Ghars Art students are experiencing new perceptions and ways of creative and critical thinking. We are promoting and teaching observation and development of sensitivity to the visual world and aesthetic principals. Creative achievements in art contribute to a sense of personal identity and self esteem and help to create cultural awareness and empathy. Dr.Irena Funduk

Ghars Fashion design 2019/2020 Fashion design is the art of applying design, artistic elements, aesthetics principals and natural beauty to clothing and its accessories. We are very proud that in school year 2019/2020, Ghars Art team made first attempts in fashion designing and learning about its principals. Ghars fashion designers interpreted and told us their own original and authentic stories. Their creative achievements and the skills they developed, are making us all so proud, hoping they will benefit from them and InshaAllah them, in life and years to come. Dr.Irena Funduk

ISLAMIC ART Islamic art encompasses the visual arts produced in the Islamic world. Islamic art is difficult to characterize because it covers a wide range of lands, periods, and genres, including Islamic architecture, Islamic calligraphy, Islamic miniature, Islamic glass, Islamic pottery, and textile arts such as carpets and embroidery. It comprises both religious and secular art forms. Religious art is represented by calligraphy, architecture and furnishings of religious buildings, such as mosque fittings (e.g., mosque lamps and Girih tiles), woodwork and carpets. Secular art also flourished in the Islamic world, although some of its elements were criticized by religious scholars. Early development of Islamic art was influenced by Roman art, Early Christian art (particularly Byzantine art), and Sassanian art, with later influences from Central Asian nomadic traditions. Chinese art had a formative influence on Islamic painting, pottery, and textiles. Though the concept of “Islamic art” has been criticized by some modern art historians as an illusory Eurocentric construct, the similarities between art produced at widely different times and places in the Islamic world, especially in the Islamic Golden Age, have been sufficient to keep the term in wide use by scholars. Islamic art is often characterized by recurrent motifs, such as the use of geometrical floral or vegetal designs in a repetition known as the arabesque. The arabesque in Islamic art is often used to symbolize the transcendent, indivisible and infinite nature of God. Mistakes in repetitions may be intentionally introduced as a show of humility by artists who believe only God can produce perfection, although this theory is disputed. Some interpretations of Islam include a ban of depiction of animate beings, also known as aniconism. Islamic aniconism stems in part from the prohibition of idolatry and in part from the belief that creation of living forms is God’s prerogative. Muslims have interpreted these prohibitions in different ways in different times and places. Religious Islamic art has been typically characterized by the absence of figures and extensive use of calligraphic, geometric and abstract floral patterns. However, representations of Islamic religious figures are found in some manuscripts from Persianate cultures, including Ottoman Turkey and Mughal India. These pictures were meant to illustrate the story and not to infringe on the Islamic prohibition of idolatry, but many Muslims regard such images as forbidden. In secular art of the Muslim world, representations of human and animal forms historically flourished in nearly all Islamic cultures, although, partly because of opposing religious sentiments, figures in paintings were often stylized, giving rise to a variety of decorative figural designs. The period of a rapid expansion of the Islamic era forms a reasonably accurate beginning for the label of Islamic art. Early geographical boundaries of the Islamic culture were in present day Syria. It is quite difficult to distinguish the earliest Islamic objects from their predecessors in Persian or Sassanid and Byzantine art, and the conversion of the mass of the population, including artists, took a significant period, sometimes centuries, after the initial Muslim conquest. There was, notably, a significant production of unglazed ceramics, witnessed by a famous small bowl preserved in the Louvre, whose inscription assures its attribution to the Islamic period. Plant motifs were the most important in these early productions. Influences from the Sassanian artistic tradition includes the image of the king as a warrior and the lion as a symbol of nobility and virility. Bedouin tribal traditions mixed with the more sophisticated styles of the conquered territories. For an initial period, coins had human figures in the Byzantine and Sassanian style, perhaps to reassure users of their continued value, before the Islamic style with lettering only took over.

Innovations that changed the world

Why A Smartwatch Can Be Beneficial For Your Health

Smart watches have the potential to support health in everyday living by: enabling self-monitoring of personal activity; obtaining feedback based on activity measures; allowing for in-situ surveys to identify patterns of behavior; and supporting bi-directional communication with health care providers and family members. However, smart watches are an emerging technology and research with these devices is at a nascent stage.

Helps Monitor Heart Rate

Smartwatches are very beneficial to its users, especially on tracking their resting heart rate or RHR. Most watches have an integrated heart rate detector or monitor that helps asses the heart rate. Devices such as smartwatches are beneficial when you know how much effort you’re exerting when you exercise. A smartwatch can send you a notification that you need to do more exercises, or it can alarm you if you’re exerting too much effort. Having a smartwatch that can effectively monitor your heart rate is a great way to avoid injuring yourself. Remember, the proper way to exercise or improve your cardio is by slowly increasing the distance or effort you’re doing. Don’t go all out on the first run. Exercising should be done in increments, which will allow your body to adapt to your workout slowly.

Enables You To Exercise Properly

As mentioned earlier, a smartwatch can keep track of your progress when you exercise. It also keeps your progress logged so you can review it anytime you want. An advantage that information logging can have is that you can add improvements or reduce your effort when working out. Together with a computer, a Smartwatch, and a fitness planner, you can drastically create an efficient system that will enable you to exercise properly.

Helps You Track Your Diet

Another feature that health enthusiasts love about smartwatches is they’re able to keep track of their diet. Arguably, everyone enjoys eating, and it’s very easy to get distracted. Your smartwatch can send you notifications to help remind you about your fitness goals. Smartwatches also have apps that monitor and log your calorie intake. Some even have pre-loaded information on how much calories a serving of a particular food has. Indeed, wearing a smartwatch can help you exercise and lose weight safely.

Can Help Improve Sleep

Believe it or not, a smartwatch can help you improve sleeping habits. A smartwatch can track your health even if you’re asleep. For example, your smartwatch can gather your total sleeping hours and log it for you. When you suspect that you’re not getting enough sleep, you can look at your logs to confirm your suspicions.

Function As A Safety Device

Smartwatches can also function as a safety device. Whenever you feel in danger or if you’re lost, your smartwatch can act as a beacon for your family, friends, and emergency services to track you down. There are also smartwatches with apps that send notifications when it detects an unusual inactivity period coming from its user.

Robots and Programming In the current days and age, we imagine robots as human-like beings with legs, arms, a torso and a head. Even though some companies like Honda, Boston Dynamics, and Amazon are working on making such an image a reality, there are other types of robots in our lives that we tend to overlook. These robots could be programmed to complete certain tasks continuously until they are unable to function anymore. First, we must understand what the word “robot” means. The term originated from the Czech word for “forced labor”; robota. Inanimate objects like metallic machines that do not have any will, thought, nor feeling, could be put into a situation where they would complete laborious tasks until they cannot function anymore. In some cases, computers and smartphones could be considered robots, as they fit our definition. Though it is widely agreed upon that robots would need physical moving part, as with these parts, they would complete a task or function. “A device that automatically performs tasks that are complicated and often continuously repeated” (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Some of the simplest and widely used “robots” of today are microwaves. This may be considered a surprise to some, viewing microwaves as robots, but they fit every definition of the term; thus, they are technically robots. They are inanimate objects that complete a task, heating food, by doing certain tasks and use moving parts. The moving part is the spinning plate, and the task is to generate heat using micro-waves released by a device that takes in electricity, and continues to function for a set period of time. This view of what robots are could be applied to microwaves, air conditioning units, dish washers, machines in a factory, and metallic arms which help carry heavy parts in a factory or shipyard. Put simply, a robot would need to have moving parts, an input of data or parameters, and an output or result of required task. The parameters that the robot functions within are the part that could be programmed. For example, programming a cutting machine to cut a sheet of metal in a precise way over time, completing specific movements while blasting high pressure water/ sand/air, and doing this function repeatedly for a set time until the pre-programmed design is complete. Another simple example would be the microwave, where people would set the temperature, the time, and “start” the microwave. This piece of kitchen appliance is one of many robots that could be programmed, benefit our lives by doing things for us, thus making life easier. Finally, you may find robots in any manner of things, but each one must be made and programmed to fulfill a purpose. Robots will surely play a large role in the future of humanity. In each passing moment, there is a greater need to find those who can program these machines. Programming robots is not only a necessary field, but also has a huge potential for creativity. What flies without wings? I only exist when you are here .Where you never were I can never be What am I ? What force and strength cannot get through, I with my unique teeth can do. What am I ? Take off my skin, I won’t cry, but you will! What am I ? What is harder to catch the faster you run? What has no hands but might knock on your door, and if it does you better open up? What goes up but never comes down? If you’ve got me, you want to share me; if you share me, you haven’t kept me. What am I? What has words, but never speaks? I have lakes with no water, mountains with no stone and cities with no buildings. What am I ?
