Jingle Jog

JINGLE JOG The week before Christmas break, dozens of K-5 students gathered to participate in a long-standing tradition known as the Jingle Jog. On two separate mornings, family members were invited to watch their student run a mile while raising money for our sister school in the Philippines: Grace Community Christian. The money raised, (over $6,000 this year!), allows us help fund capital projects such as providing electricty in the gym at Grace Community. Susan Miller, ZCS PE teacher, and creator of the Jingle Jog says the event is a fun way for students to learn the importance of cardiorespiratory endurance while showing their goofiness through costumes. Runners and spectators alike greatly enjoy the event, and Miller says she is repeatedly told by families this is the event they will never miss. What began as a fun run eighteen years ago has grown beyond the walls of Zeeland Christian to bring joy into other communities, filling the halls of Grace Community Christian with similar smiles.
