After a great start to the rainy season, the potable water in Mohokare hasrun out. For the third time in November, the Mohokare Local Municipality has been unable to supply water to the community The municipality wasnot prepared and has not had the required chemicals for purification on three occasions in less than half a month. The technical department blames the supply chain department, and vice versa The DA has requested a full investigation by the Municipal Manager, Molatelo Kanwendo, into the situation

and urges the Speaker, Retshedisitswe Thuhlo, to table it at the next council meeting at the end of November. The investigation has to focus on the technical department, the supply chain department, and the supplier of the chemicals Additionally, the municipality has to report on why water tankers are not dispatched to the affected areas and the status of municipalboreholesthatcould assistinrelievingthesituation The supply of water is a basic human right, and a lack of governanceisnoexcuse

Ingredients

30 ml (2 Tbsp) sunflower oil

1 onion, peeled and finely chopped

1 green pepper, finely chopped 3 carrots, peeled and grated

30 ml (2 Tbsp) Robertsons

Braai & Grill Spicy BBQ

45 ml (3 Tbsp) Knorr Chakalaka Soup

125 ml (½ cup) water

700 g Boerewors6 bread rollsbutter (optional)

100 g feta cheese, crumbled

Heattheoilinasaucepanandfrytheonionsandgreen peppersuntilsoftAddthegratedcarrotsandsautéfora further 10 minutes, or until softened Add the Robertsons Braai & Grill Spicy BBQ and stir for 1 minute.In a small bowl, make a smooth mixture of the Knorr Chakalaka Soup and water, and add this to the saucepan. Stir well and simmer over a medium low heat for 15 20 minutes, or until the chakalaka reaches the desired consistencyBraai the boerewors over low to medium coals until cooked through, taking care not toburnitontheoutside Removefromthegridandcut into portionsSlice the rolls lengthways, and butter them (optional). Place a boerewors piece in each roll and top with the chakalaka and crumbled feta.Serve hot.
