Printing techniques Screen printing - a technique that provides high-quality print of intense colors and has exceptional resistance to external influences. Color is passed through the meshed matrix leaving clear, sharp prints. The technique is equally well applicable to multi-color printing and single-color printing solutions and represents an economical choice for larger print runs due to the cost of individual prints. Round screen printing - all the features of classical screen printing with a note that it is can be applied only on cylindrical shaped objects with a constant cross-sectional size. Because of these traits technique is not applicable to cone-shaped objects. Pad printing - a technique that involves deep printing with indirect injection using a printing form (pad) to transfer color. The advantage of this technique is wide applicability for various branding items and types of materials (ceramics, plastics, rubber, glass, metal...). It also stands out with its possibility of printing on uneven surfaces. Pad printing is quick, economical, and is most commonly used in decorative art. Sticker printing (doming) - formed as a result of polyurethane resin casting on a flat surface such as stickers, decals, plates... This process provides visually appealing threedimensional object which makes sticker different from traditional labels. Polyurethane resin prolongs the service life of the etiquette, because it protects the advertising message in the layer below. Sticker can be applied to all types of materials and on all shapes. Digital printing - a technique that significantly speeds up the realization of the printing process, because the printing preparations time is significantly shorter compared to other techniques. Printing process is performed directly on the object surface. Digital printing is ideal for small to medium print runs as well as for full color printing. It’s characterized by high precision and the ability to print a large series with different graphics solutions for each unit separately. Hot stamping - an items printing process without using any paint. Hot stamping forms a hollow imprint by combining the pressure, high temperature and an appropriate die formed according to the printing design. It’s most commonly used for decoration of thermo-reactive PU materials and real leather. Items such as diaries, planners and wallets are ideal for the personalization using this process. Decal baking - a technique that applies to items made of porcelain, glass and ceramics. Decals require special kinds of paint that are applied by the screen printing process decal paper. Aſter applying the decal to the desired item manually, it is baked in the oven at high temperature. During the baking, the paint penetrates into the structure of the item and it can provide a long life and resistance to scratching, washing and UV radiation. Transfer printing - ideal for branding of products such as hats, shirts, bags, jackets and similar items, and can be applied regardless of the color of the fabric. Decal is formed by using the screen or digital printing process and represents application that is transferred directly to textile affected by press, warmed up to a certain temperature. Embroidery - traditional technique of decorating fabric with a needle and thread. Embroidery can be applied to flat, but also to the uneven surfaces. It’s the right choice for decorating T-shirts, hats, caps, scarves, shirts, etc. Laser engraving - a technique that involves the use of a laser beam for precise engraving on surfaces. This technique produces the impression of exclusivity and gives excellent results on metal, plastic and wood. The imprint may be of different color (black, gold, silver, shiny or matt), depending on the material that the item is made of. Type of material used to produce the item affects the choice of types of laser that must be used: CO2 is used for metal objects that are anodized, laminated, rubberized, items of wood, artificial leather or clirit. It’s most commonly applied to metal pens and coloured key holders. YAG can be applied to all types of metal and plastic. Engraving can be applied directly on objects made of stainless steel and metals treated with some of galvanization processes: chrome plating, nickel plating… Sublimation - Sublimation involves the application of decal to objects made of ceramics, which are specially prepared for this type of press. Decals are made as a result of the digital printing, while the heat press is used to transfer them to a desired ceramic surface. The process enables the penetration of color into the structure of the film that coats the item, so that the result of sublimation is a photo-quality image in full color. Compared to the decal baking, sublimation printing provides less resistance to scratching and washing. It’s an ideal choice for small print runs, and ceramics personalization.
