This proposal recognizes the brilliant engineering of the original aqueduct and utilizes this on a smaller scale to bring potable water to the park’s users. A modern steel channel is inserted into the ancient stone structure of the aqueduct, reestablishing a 450 ft. void where the aqueduct no longer stands. The channel serves as a trough for rainwater, moving it to the lowest point along this section where it is directed underground to be filtered, stored, and then manually pumped to the surface.
