“ Once upon a time there was a boy called Charlie Cook Who curled up in a cosy chair and read his favourite book. . .” Take a trip into the brilliant 3-D technicolour world of the best loved children’s author and illustrator pairing, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, with the UK’s first immersive exhibition of their wonderful work. Can you spot The Gruffalo? Watch out, it might be a bit of A Squash and a Squeeze to get around the life-sized cow! Who’s that flying overhead, could it be Zog? Be The Smartest Giant in Town, climb through the cave of The Highway Rat, swing through the Monkey Puzzle jungle, discover the underwater world of Tiddler, set sail with The Snail and the Whale and take your seat for the ride of your life with Room on the Broom. Mole and Gecko is an interactive rap musical that you help create. There are live songs, rap stories, instant poems and a weasel with a serious biscuit problem. Z-arts Young Performers explore this timeless story of magic, mischief and mayhem in a spell-binding new production. The magic awaits! When four evacuee children are sent to the country, they begin a series of thrilling adventures. Inside an old wardrobe they discover the land of Narnia, ruled over by the cruel White Witch. They must join Aslan the lion and lead the fight against evil.

As part of our pre-school programme, we will be making lots of noise with our resident musician and singer Yemi to celebrate World Music Day! Come and sing along.
National Share a Story Month
Join us in celebrating National Share a Story Month with A World Inside a Book! The theme will be Travelling Tales, so we will be exploring Julia and Axel’s story The Snail and the Whale. Z-access Family Fun Day Our free family access day returns, this time with accessible drama, dance, music and arts and crafts activities themed around the wonderful, inspiring stories created by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler! All the activities are free and are designed specifically for people with disabilities and additional requirements. Write, record and perform music and songs in our Levi’s Music Studio supported by professional musicians Yemi and Jack.
