DIR. HAYAO MIYAZAKI, JAPAN, 1988, 82 MIN SCREENING SPONSOR – ORDISH & ORDISH CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS

Renowned director Miyazaki’s classic animation is as lovable now as when it was first released. Satsuki and her younger sister Mei move into a house in the country with their father to be closer to their hospitalized mother. The two young girls discover that the nearby forest is inhabited by magical creatures called Totoros (pronounced toe-toe-ro). They soon befriend these Totoros, and have several magical adventures. Free admission – family screening.

Expedition to the End of the World (Ekspeditionen til verdens ende) 11:30am

DIR. DANIEL DENCIK, DENMARK/SWEDEN/GREENLAND, 2013, 90 MIN SCREENING SPONSOR – ARCTIC STAR PRINTING INC.

A thrilling 21st century adventure film. North-East Greenland’s melting massifs set the scene for this exploratory mission realized by a myriad of personalities - scientists, philosophers and artists—all on one magnificent tall ship. A superbly orchestrated film where one iconic image after the other seduces us far beyond the historical footnote that is humanity. Stunning imagery and intriguing originality. In English and Danish with English subtitles. "The cinematography is invariably stunning, featuring lovely scenes of wildlife and lichenencrusted landscapes. That alone makes it worth going along for the ride." ~Bruce Demara, Toronto Star
