Freedom in Education Motion The design of this project tackles the struggle of how
Dynamism
the student may feel when entering the “educational”
Integration with Nature
building. Countless feel like the area is a place of work only with no integration with the outside world. This design attempts to implement the factor of the external with the building. Urban designer Gordon
Cullen
says
that,
being able to create an “outdoor room” space forms a sense of identity with the surrounding. Staggering
terraces
and
bridges overlooking each other were key elements to aid the concept.

Education through Curiosity Curiosity The mind of the child is an extremely powerful thing. In
Connectivity
order to positively develop it, one must observe the
Integration with Nature
psychology of how the child thinks. Studies reveal that the
Juxtaposition
child is typically automatically attracted to the cubic form of “gift boxes, and it raises the curiosity of the child, making them keen on knowing what surprises may lay inside. Inspired by this for the design project, resulted altered cubic forms from the exterior, suiting what is inside, and containing proper spatial experiences specifically designed for the exhibition displayed on the inside. Hands-on, interactive experiments lead to an unforgettable experience

Claiming Space Through Interaction The design aimed at creating “claiming
a

community space”
Interaction

interaction, with the space as well as with each other. It forms a bond between both low and middle-income classes through interactions of the spaces and activities. Indirect bonds of familiarity and creating a “family” in the complex. Creating that bond with the space was achieved through interchangeable elements, and contributing to the complex to make it their own.
The project creates a
sense of privacy from the surrounding context, while not isolating the complex from it. 17

Physical health is just as vital, whether sports and activities, or nutrition. Health is just as an important factor to a childs’ life as knowledge, and more and more schools are lacking that information every day. Now eventhough the design tackles these issues, we cannot take for granted the power of knowledge. The library for instance is the nucleus of the system; it is the most vital element yet it cannot function properly without the other factors to aid it.

The Sacramento Gallery Stop This element was a part of an urban development project located at Robertson Park in Sacramento, CA. It aimed to create a unity between safety, public transportation, and local art in the area. A module of wide frames would present local art of the city of Sacramento, and would also serve as bike parks and bus stops. Altering them in various ways to create these spaces that are suitable for seating and the functional use of a bus stop. Solar panels would create efficiency in powering them from the inside at night.
