Those expected to attend the camp include Troy Mattes, Cord Sandberg, Correlle Prime, Carmine Giardina and Robert Hinton, among others. Athletes in Christ is a Bradentonbased non-profit organization that shares the message of Jesus Christ through baseball camps and other athletic events. The number of boys basketball teams scheduled to compete in the 2013 Suncoast Holiday Classic Dec. 26 through 30, at Riverview High.

The Baltimore Orioles will present Ice on the Diamond — A Holiday Celebration at 7 p.m. Dec. 20, at Ed Smith Stadium. The holiday-themed show will feature world-class ice skaters on a specially engineered ice stage at the ballpark. The show’s cast includes Michael Chack, a U.S. national bronze medalist, and Erica Archambault, a U.S. junior national champion. Triple gold medalists Stephanie Kuban and John Hunt are the lead pair. The event is part of the Orioles’ Arts in the Ballpark initiatives, a series of arts-and-entertainment activities at Ed Smith Stadium. Tickets for the show can be purchased online at orioles.com/sarasota, by calling 893-6300 or in person at the Ed Smith Stadium box office. Tickets range from $5 to $45.
