So Piers… what’s going on? (Verbatim interview)
PT - Well, its quite a grey Friday on the Portobello road today on the Portobello market. A lot of people have already packed up. I’m still reeling from the bread stall not being there…which is part of my Friday routine.
DR - Where’s that?
PT - That is down by the Electric cinema. Uhmm, but the world seems topsy-turvy Damian. We’ve got Extinction Rebellion out in Trafalgar square.
DR - Is it day three now?
PT - No, it’s day five.
DR - Day five.
PT - I must say I’m quite impressed. I didn’t think they’d get through day one, uhhmm. So, we’re all very supportive of that. But there is uhhh… some people are saying of course that a number of young black men have ended their days in custody in a cell, so… that seems to be a beef. There’s always a beef.
DR - There’s always a beef, but it’s nice that we’re at least trying to be in the era of non-violent protests.
PT - We are trying to be in the era of direct non-violent action and whatever anyone has to say, you have to admit it’s on the front page of all the newspapers. So, big up to XR.
