Welcome to YORK It’s happened – the school holidays have descended. Families everywhere are searching for ways to keep everyone entertained, wondering how on earth they’re going to ensure both granddads and granddaughters have fun at the same time. Well, you made the right decision in coming to York – we really do have something for everyone here. Music lovers will adore the York Early Music Festival, taking place from 5th-13th July, whilst comedy fans can catch preview shows for

the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at The Gillygate on 3rd, 10th and 17th July. If you love history, the new Viking Heroes exhibition at Jorvik is one to look out for – and in a city as full of historical interest as York, that’s saying something. If you fancy making your family get lost head to York Maze, or for some refined dining give the Lady Lunches at Cedar Court Grand Hotel & Spa a try. There’ll be plenty of fairs and markets to choose from for those who love to browse, and

York Minster’s new blockbuster exhibition, Revealing York Minster, is sure to impress. And make sure you catch the Dragon Boat Challenge on 14th July, where teams of rowers will battle it out on the River Ouse as part of the Festival of the Rivers. As you’ve probably guessed, there’s just too much going on this month to even touch on all of the highlights here. Head to our events listings to plan your perfect day out – if you haven’t already, we recommend extending your stay… Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!

Until next month!
