5 ways to stay refreshed using essential oils

Staff spotlight

Young Living’s mission is to bring essential oils into every home in the world. How do you use essential oils in your home? Try our simple suggestions to put your oils to a few different uses this summer. Remember: never settle for second best. For your safety and wellbeing, only use Young Living’s pure, unadulterated therapeutic-grade essential oils in the following recipes.

Icy-cool For a refreshing touch, add freshly picked spearmint leaves and a drop of spearmint essential oil to your ice cube trays before filling with water. Once frozen, add to your jug of water. For an extra special touch, add slices of lime to the jug.

Fresh fridge There is nothing worse than a fridge that smells a little ‘on the nose’. Who wants to be putting their fresh food in something that smells like that? To keep foul odours and germs at bay, add four to five drops of Citrus Fresh essential oil blend to a clean, damp cloth and wipe over the inside of your fridge. Once clean, add a few drops of Citrus Fresh to a cotton ball. Put this in the back of your fridge and voila! No more nasty smells.

Cold compress Feeling a little hot and bothered? If the summer heat gets all too much, try this clever tip. Fill a large, clean bowl with water and add two to three drops of peppermint essential oil. Use your hands to disturb the water, allowing the oil to disperse. Grab a clean washer and immerse it into the bowl. Once completely saturated, wring out any excess, fold the washer in half, and then roll into a long cylinder shape. Put this in your freezer and allow it to cool. When you feel flustered, get the cool washer from your freezer, unroll, and apply to your forehead, neck, chest, or wherever you require—just be sure to avoid your eyes! Keep multiple peppermint washers in your freezer to stay one up on the summer heat.

Water with a difference Keeping hydrated is very important any time of the year, but it is even more crucial in summer when temperatures often rise over 30 degrees. If you know you should be drinking more water but find it difficult due to its lack of flavour, try the following tip. Keep your water in a large glass jug in the fridge—try to drink it all every day. To the jug, add four to five drops of your favourite citrus oil, like lemon, orange, grapefruit, or tangerine essential oil, and stir. To enhance flavour even further, add slices of orange and lemon to the jug. This water is packed full of antioxidants and tastes so good that you’ll easily get through the whole jug!

NingXia Red iceblocks If you have kids, you’ll know that one thing they always want in summer is a nice cold iceblock. With all of the artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, and sugar packed into food these days, many parents are growing wary of what they give to their children. For a healthy and yummy alternative, try freezing some NingXia Red Singles—they make the perfect iceblocks! They are also fantastic additions to lunchboxes, helping to keep food cool and fresh as well as providing a refreshing lunchtime energy boost.

SclarEssence has done wonders for my liver, and one year ago, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes—it’s helped balance my blood sugar levels. I normally have Balance Complete around 7:00pm instead of a main meal as it fills me up and helps stop the 9:00pm Tim Tam cravings.

JIM O’REILLY – GENERAL MANAGER The past six weeks have been fantastic! I have travelled up and down the eastern seaboard and met many wonderful Young Living people. Received some marvellous training and support and have been indoctrinated in the wonder of Young Living Essential Oils. My wife, Jodie, and I have been instructed in how to cook, clean, apply, ingest, and share oils. Our thanks go to Artemis & Noel for a great weekend and Mark & Rani for their informative meetings.

Let me explain. If I was a healer or therapist and had a huge argument with a family member, then went on to visit with and treat a client, the effect and benefits of the oils would be diminished greatly because of the negative energy carried with me. Let’s remind ourselves how and why these oils have come to be; these are the finest oils on the planet,

The intent of healing

There are many wonderful healers in our Young Living organisation and one piece of instruction that kept coming up was ‘the intent of healing’. The treatment, and indeed effectiveness, of our miraculous products rely a lot on our intent in treating or sharing oils.

formulated by D. Gary Young and others for the express purpose of treating and healing. Our products are assisted by their integrity and the integrity of those who created them. This brings me to the element of competition. They say that imitation is the best form of flattery, and we are all aware of some of those who are competing with us and claiming to have oils and products as good—if not better—than Young Living’s. These claims are simply not true! Ask yourself these questions: How did these companies start? What was their intent? Do they want to genuinely heal or do they want more materialistic benefits? Knowing what I now know about the ‘intent to heal’ and what motivates Young Living versus others, it is just so plainly obvious why our oils and products are simply the world’s best. Next time someone addresses, approaches, or makes competitive claims, ask your self this: What is their intent? Warmest regards Jim PHONE
