NEW S OF T H E WORL D L EA DER IN ESS ENTIAL OI L S

A MESSAGE FROM MARY Hello, my friends, In 1992 Gary made the statement, “A few years down the road from now, you are going to see Young Living with 3-5 million distributors worldwide because we’ve got products that people don’t want to walk away from. You are going to set an example for the world to follow. You distributors are trend setters for the ’90s, for this new network marketing idea, and for a new concept in health care and personal care products. It’s really exciting to see the potential and possibilities that all of you have.” Now in 2019, we’ve surpassed Gary’s predictions. When Gary gave Jared the directive that evolved into our worldwide 5×5 Pledge, a whirlwind was set in motion. In February we had the Academy graduation, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Ecuador’s new offices and Experience Centre, and the country opening of Colombia. We also celebrated the 20-year anniversary of Australia, with truly monumental achievements under the dynamic leadership of our General Manager, Kristen Tod. In March we headed to the cold north of Fort Nelson, Canada, to join in the winter festival. It was a way for us in Young Living to thank the people of Fort Nelson for their help and support in building our distillery operation and for the residents of Fort Nelson to learn more about us and what we do. The snow activities were fun and exhilarating with a little music and dancing to keep everyone warmed up, and the hot cider was wonderful. Could we call this the warmup for the rest of the year? As I travel to many of these great events that are on the horizon, I look forward to seeing many of you there. My best to all,

FLAWLESS INGREDIENTS, FLAWLESS LOOKS Our Savvy Minerals line leads the clean beauty movement If you’re conscientious about the products you bring into your life, buying makeup has probably always been a frustrating game of weighing one harsh ingredient against another and deliberating if you really want to compromise your standards for that trendy lipstick shade. Savvy Minerals® is eliminating that makeup aisle crisis with industry-leading clean beauty in shades so good, you’ll feel like you’re getting away with something. Savvy Minerals isn’t just continuing Young Living’s 25-year tradition of crafting pure, effective products—it’s defining and leading the clean beauty movement. Our goal? Offer a range that doesn’t make you choose between performance and freedom from harsh chemicals, because for us, true clean beauty is about both. Every Savvy Minerals product gives you peace of mind as well as powerful color payoff, all-day wear, easy application, and beautiful results that let the real you shine.

Defining what clean makeup is starts by defining what it isn’t. We’ve used the European Union’s list of more than 1,300 banned personal care ingredients as a jumping-off point and added some of our own to create a list of ingredients you’ll never find in Savvy Minerals products. Here are just a few mainstream ingredients our formulas exclude: Bismuth oxychloride A compound of the heavy metal bismuth, bismuth oxychloride is a pigment that can cause skin irritation. Formaldehyde A recognized human carcinogen, formaldehyde is commonly used as a preservative. Parabens Parabens are often used to prevent mold, fungus, and bacteria growth. With estrogen-mimicking properties, however, parabens have been connected to breast cancer. Phthalates Phthalates are used as a solvent and fixative in synthetic fragrances but are also known as endocrine disruptors that have been linked to fertility issues, hormone imbalances, developmental problems, and more. Red 7 lake A bright red pigment, red 7 lake is derived from coal tar. As if its origins weren’t dirty enough, it can trigger allergic reactions. Talc Often used as a base for powder cosmetics, talc is associated with the development of some cancers. In its natural form, it also contains asbestos. These common ingredients are just a peek at what you’ll never find in Savvy Minerals, but it gets even better. We believe that clean beauty is kind beauty. Savvy Minerals products also proudly bear the designation “Not tested on animals.” So while you’re dodging the harsh chemicals, you’re also showing our furry friends some love. Want to know more? Follow Savvy Minerals on Instagram, where you’ll find 12 informative videos under the Clean Beauty highlights about what makes Savvy Minerals the cleanest beauty range out there. Plus, you’ll find education, color inspiration, and much more! Add a burst of color to your feed by following @savvymineralsbyyl.

THE YOUNG LIVING ACADEMY CELEBRATES 10 YEARS Commemorating a decade of empowering children through wellness and educational opportunities Over a decade ago, Young Living Founder D. Gary Young traveled along a dirt road in Ecuador in search of perfect farmland. As he drove into the small tropical community of Chongon, he noticed 42 children running in and out of a small, rugged brick building that lacked a door or windows. He soon realized this was the community’s school—one room in which students in kindergarten through sixth grade learned from volunteer teachers. Deeply moved by what he’d witnessed, Gary set out to empower this community—and the future leaders of Ecuador—by building a new, world-class school. On April 14, 2009, the Young Living Academy opened its doors for the first time, welcoming over 90 students in first through sixth grade. This occasion also marked the beginning of The D. Gary Young, Young Living Foundation. As the school grew, so did Gary’s understanding of the community’s need. It became clear that the financial burden of sending children to school was often enough for families to keep their children at home. To help relieve this burden, Young Living launched the Sponsor-a-Student program in September 2011. Under this initiative, Young Living members donated money each month to cover their students’ expenses for tuition, two meals per day, uniforms, school supplies, and much more. The next major improvement to the school’s grounds was the addition of a high school. This expansion to the existing

“This is what Young Living is about—changing the world one person at a time.” —D. Gary Young building added five classrooms, a school library, a teacher workroom, a science lab, and additional bathrooms. With the high school up and running, the Academy celebrated its first graduation ceremony on March 9, 2016. Since then, 79 students have graduated from the Academy in four graduating classes. Gary and Mary’s vision of empowering the future leaders of Ecuador transcends high school graduation; this year the Foundation unveiled the first university scholarship program. Now graduates of the Academy will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships to offset the costs of higher education, truly empowering students to achieve their dreams.

YOUNG LIVING WELCOMES COLOMBIA TO THE FAMILY!

Continued from page 1

We’re ecstatic to see everything our Colombian members achieve!

Country Manager Carlos Lopez Ortega, CEO Mary Young, and LATAM Regional President Gabriel Sanchez joined the celebration. In February CEO Mary Young and President and COO Jared Turner traveled to Colombia to welcome our newest market into the Young Living family! Now that the country is an official market, members can purchase products with Colombia-compliant labels—and those

products will arrive much faster, thanks to their local warehouse. Mary and Jared met with more than 2,000 members in Bogota, Medellin, and Cali, where they participated in ribbon-cutting ceremonies and shared their zeal for Young Living! Members also learned some of the tricks of the trade from expert staffers and leaders. At an on-site expo, essential oil newcomers and experts alike learned more about the YL oils and blends they’re so enthusiastic about, as well as our world-renowned NingXia Red® products. The celebration was more than just education; attendees were also entertained by national celebrities! Colombian singer Andrés Cepeda wowed the crowd with his pop-rock tunes, and soccer coach Mario Yepes welcomed Young Living to Colombia with a special gift for Mary—a jersey with her name on it! Our members in Colombia have hit the ground running, powered by their generosity, desire to grow, and love for essential oils! We anticipate major success from our newest market. We also opened our new Experience Centre in Ecuador with a grand opening in February. Now members can shop around, learn about Young Living, and find inspiration among other passionate essential oil users. We’re eager to see Latin America continue to grow!

“My tried-and-true diffuser blend for spring—or anytime I need an aromatic pick-me-up—is 4 drops of Joy™, 4 drops of Citrus Fresh™, and 1 drop of Lime! It smells heavenly and is also refreshing and uplifting. It welcomes the beauty of spring with its floral and citrus notes!” —Samantha M. “5 drops of Grapefruit and 3 drops of Basil is the most delightfully refreshing combo! Its freshness is perfection!” —Karen S. “My favorite spring diffuser blend is Citrus Fresh™, Spearmint, and Joy™. I love how it makes my house smell—so uplifting! I have used it a lot this winter too. My son has a traumatic brain injury from a farming accident, and he loves the positive, uplifting aroma when I diffuse this, since he experiences a lot of emotional ups and downs.” —Aleta T. “I have made a new diffuser discovery: Jade Lemon™, Joy™, and Jasmine. You’ll never want to leave your house! Give the diffuser a little shake before you start it so the Jasmine oil doesn’t settle.” —Barbara S. “My tried-and-true diffuser blend is one that I call Hawaiian Dreams: 3 drops of Lavender, 2 drops of Bergamot, 1 drop of Lemon, and 1 drop of Sandalwood. The smell is refreshing and will whisk you away to paradise!” —Cathy R. *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. YOUNG LIVING SOUTH AFRICA Region Update

Get to know April’s product of the month!

If you haven’t ventured out to try Vetiver, you’re in for a steam-distilled surprise! Vetiver is a fragrant, perennial grass native to the tropical regions in Asia. It has long stems and wispy flowers, but the essential oil is actually distilled from the plant’s roots. The oil has an exotic, earthy aroma that fosters feelings of relaxation and balance. Whether you use it in your evening bubble bath or midafternoon meditation, it’s time to give Vetiver a go! • For centuries Vetiver was a goto scent in men’s soaps and colognes due to its warm, woodsy base note. Capture this historical aroma at home by adding a few drops of Vetiver essential oil to your favorite soap or perfume. Your DIY project may not make history, but it will make for a fabulous fragrance! • If your Monday calls for massage, combine a few drops of Vetiver essential oil with our V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex and treat tired muscles to a little TLC. They’ll benefit from the quality time, and you’ll benefit from Vetiver’s calming aroma.

• Is “find a way to even out skin tone” at the top of your cosmetic checklist? You’ve come to the right oil! Vetiver essential oil may not have an aesthetician license, but this spa-quality botanical can still help revitalize dry, dull skin. Add a drop or two to your facial cleanser for a fresher, dewierlooking complexion. • Life can get crazy when you’re raising a family. Days are full of carpool, volunteering, homework, piano lessons, soccer practice, and play dates. Make your home a haven from the hustle and bustle by diffusing the soothing scent of Vetiver essential oil. Combine it with Lavender and Ylang Ylang for a true serenity-now scent. • Patience is a virtue with Vetiver— it’s thicker than most essential oils. If the flow is slow, pick up the pace by adding a few drops of V-6 to the bottle. To dig a little deeper into Vetiver, visit The Lavender Life blog at YoungLiving.com/ blog. Ready to dive into diffusing this exotic essential oil? Order a bottle today!

We’re taking historic steps in our efforts to share essential oils with every home on earth. Our first major project on the African continent was our partnership with the Amanzi Amahle Farm and Distillery in South Africa. Now we’re transforming more lives than ever by expanding our Not for Resale (NFR) offerings in the same country! South Africa is our newest emerging NFR market, which means we can share our life-changing YL products with the people who live there. Now Young Living members in this enhanced market can order their favorites from the U.S. Product Guide* and participate in U.S. promotions with U.S. pricing! With competitive shipping through DHL, and with Young Living absorbing fees associated with customs and duties, members can get their products more quickly and efficiently. Also, when members start to build their businesses, they’ll get access to Hyperwallet commissions payment, so they can get their funds when they need them. Expanding the NFR market in South Africa paves the way for opening South Africa as a full market later in 2019. Young Living leaders around the world have supported members in South Africa to build a foundation for this exciting development, fully embracing the purpose and vision behind YL’s 5×5 Pledge to enrich more lives and open new markets. With progress like this NFR expansion, we’re well on our way! We’re thrilled that more people are joining our global community and embarking on journeys of wellness, purpose, and abundance. Join us in welcoming South Africa to the family! Join us in welcoming the Bella Vista Farm to the Young Living family! We’re delighted to partner with yet another beautiful farm that values our Seed to Seal® quality commitment as much as we do. They follow sustainable practices and uphold Young Living’s standards of excellence, making them an excellent fit for YL. Nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean, the farm is located 20 miles outside the city of Reggio Calabria on the western coast of Italy. They also take full advantage of the sunny climate. During the off season, the farm’s buildings rely 100 percent on solar energy.
