Organs of the Nervous System

Parts of the Brain Controls voluntary movements

Coordinates movements and controls balance.

Communicates the brain with the spinal cord

Types of Movement REFLEX MOVEMENTS - These movements happen automatically. These are involuntary movements which happen as a result of external stimuli.

VOLUNTARY MOVEMENTS These movements happen when

we make decisions.

VOLUNTARY AND INVOLUNTARY MOVEMENTS

Reflexes Reflexes are used to protect our body. Reflexes happen automatically! They help us to stay away from things that might hurt us. For example: When we feel the heat from a fire, we immediately move our hands away before we get burnt!

The Knee Jerk Reflex Activity! Let’s see how reflexes work for ourselves!!!
