Hello and a warm welcome to Yoga Nature. Yoga Nature is dedicated to providing a safe space for people to explore, in the spirit of nonviolence, the art and science of various yoga practices. We are committed to offering yoga experiences of a very high quality, that are accessible to all body shapes, sizes, abilities, ages and that are reasonably priced. We teach a range of classes including adults and kids classes, classes in schools and workplaces and personalised one to ones.

At Yoga Nature we leave our competitive egos at the door. We provide a nourishing and nurturing environment in which you and your yoga practice will bloom. We learn to accept our unique bodies and work within our own abilities to achieve a thoughtful, respectful and understanding practice. Through a joint understanding, trust and empathy you will find that our classes, workshops and yoga walks are enjoyable, revitalising and relaxing.

Jo has been a student of yoga for over 20 years and teaching yoga for 10 years. She is highly trained having undertaken four year long Dru teacher training and continues to undertake CPD on a regular basis. Jo teaches a mix of flowing Dru yoga with elements of Satyananda, Yin and Vinyasa yoga. Jo specialises in yoga for back care, yoga for kids and teens, prescriptive one to ones & small groups and yoga dance.

Due to all classes being very popular it is important that you contact Jo before attending to check that there is space for you in the class.

Wear comfortable clothes that do not inhibit your movement and cover you appropriately. We recommend that you wear layers, since your body may warm up considerably during your yoga practice, and cool down during the relaxation phase of class. Bring a blanket, yoga mat (if you don’t have a mat Jo will bring one for you) and a bottle of water. If you have, you may also like to bring blocks, pillows, bolsters and straps.

Jo has been helping people with various back issues on a one to one basis and through specific workshops on the topic since 2009. In 2011 Jo undertook an 18 month yoga therapy course with the Dru Yoga School which specialised in yoga for back care. In these specialised one to ones we will explore how yoga therapy can help you maintain a healthy back or help you to alleviate any discomfort you may have due to a back issue.

These sessions are suitable for everyone from people recovering from back operations, unspecific back discomfort, osteoporosis, sciatica or other issues to people who have no back issue but are just curious to find out how yoga can help keep their back stay healthy. In the one to ones we will examine the structure of the spine, how it moves and the muscles that support the entire back. To help with your home practice you will be given a recording of the sessions. The sessions usually run for 12 weeks give or take a week depending on what we are working on. The sessions last for approximately 90 minutes. Please do contact Jo to find out more or to book a session.

Yoga Beings has been developed for children aged 4 to 11 years old. Through storytelling, play and fantasy your child will learn traditional yoga postures, sequences, breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques. From feedback gathered from parents and children you may begin to see your child using yoga as part of their play. There has been a lot of press about the benefits of yoga for children. It has been shown to have the following benefits: Improves emotional and social skills Increases ability to identify and locate body parts Improves co-ordination and balance Improves concentration and calmness Increases flexibility

Improves general health.

The classes run on a termly basis. ÂŁ7 per class per child for the term. Check website for term dates and price for the full term. Drop-in ÂŁ9 per class.

Your child should wear clothing that does not inhibit movement and that covers them appropriately for when they are doing inverted postures. Ideally they should avoid wearing tights. Please bring a healthy snack, a bottle of water and your child can also bring a toy but it is important to note that they cannot use the toy during the class if it disrupts their practice or other children’s practice.

A day of Shakti Dance, Dru Yoga Dance, Poetry and Kirtan hosted by HariPyari, Joanna Bertzeletos and DJ Darshana. This day has been designed to lift our creative energy and prana (life force) through the use of specific yoga movements, mudras, yoga nidra, meditation, sound, sacred mantra, conscious music and spoken word. By gently opening up to the pranic current through these practices we will embrace a state of mystic, meditative consciousness. In this workshop we will explore how stress affects our physiology and how it manifests in our body/mind/kosha complex. We will also explore various yoga practices and herbal remedies as a way of managing stress and stress related illnesses. Herbs really come into their own when it comes down to addressing symptoms of stress. We will look at herbal adaptogens that help the body adapt to high levels of stress and the resulting imbalance and depletion. We will also explore herbal nervines which help to calm the nerves as well as improving sleep patterns. The workshop will be facilitated by Jo Bertzeletos and Sarah Golding. Jo has been studying yoga for over 20 years and Sarah is a Herbalist and former Nurse, Sarah has worked in the field of health and alternative health for over 15 years. See website for more info. Come and enjoy a weekend of heart centred yoga and nature. During the weekend we will explore the energy of the heart and how to live from this space from moment to moment. Loving and being loved is one of our innermost core needs. By developing a deep love, understanding and appreciation of ourselves we can connect with a wider sphere of existence and start not only to heal ourselves but the wider world as well. During the weekend we will have the space to explore a great variety of yoga practices to help us on this journey, including, asana (yoga postures), flowing sequences, meditative walks, mantra repetition, mudras (gestures), nidra (deep relaxation), mouna (silence), fire ceremony, karma yoga and kirtan.

We also have the great honour to be joined by Lucy Crisfield. Lucy teaches vedic chant, yoga philosophy and the Sanskrt language. Her teachings bring the depths of these traditions alive in a direct, focused, joyful and simple manner. At the retreat she will be leading an afternoon workshop introducing Sanskrt along with an overview of Indian philosophical tradition and the place of yoga within that. There will then be an evening workshop on vedic chant.

All of this will take place in the beautiful, quiet and solitary, natural soundings of Unstone Grange where we will be able to deeply connect with the healing vibration of nature. Outstanding vegetarian and vegan food provided by Percy and Lily’s.

To find out more and to view the itinerary for the weekend please look on the website. Contact Jo to book.

Join us on this two day workshop and discover ancient energetic insights blended with the latest findings in anatomy and physiology, plus neuroscience and movement. What makes this workshop unique is that you will learn and feel embodied anatomy, as an experience rather than just an idea. So rather than learn lecture style anatomy which usually has very little relationship to your own practice, you become much more authentic in your movements, deepening your own insights and understanding of what is actually happening in the body. You find that you don't need external validation of your postures or movements because the energy body guides you as to what is true for you. You become a master of the energy body. Everything is explained in Jay's very simple and light-hearted way, and you will benefit greatly from his 25 years teaching experience, alongside Jo’s own distinctive, fun and intuitive approach. Bring a veggie lunch to share. Contact Jo to book.

The winter solstice is a time to celebrate each other and being alive. Through the use of love, warmth, music, sound and visualisation we begin to connect with something more than just ourselves. We are able to bring our inner wisdom out of the dark unconscious, to grow with the increasing light where we can birth our visions and name our dreams for the coming months. This is always a very popular workshop so book your place early. Contact Jo to book.
