Past and present pupils and colleagues gather to celebrate violin teacher Margaret Norris’s 60-year contribution to both their own musical lives and that of The Yehudi Menuhin School.
Margaret was a member of staff at the original school when it opened in London back in 1963 and she remained devoted to it, living on-site for 25 years, writing the music timetables and, of course, teaching the violin. She built many long-lasting relationships with countless pupils, and it is in tribute to her that so many talented and diverse musicians are returning to The Menuhin Hall for this memorial concert.
The evening will be a rekindling of old childhood partnerships and the forging of new collaborations between musicians from different decades. The second half will culminate in the coming together of 60 years of musical history, with current pupils playing alongside alumni, building new memories on the foundations of the past.
