PAUL CROWLEY & CO SOLICITORS recently took part in an ‘Anfield to Istanbul’ challenge to raise money for the victims of the Turkey/Syria earthquake.

Matthew Kay, from PC&Co’s conveyancing department, suggested the idea for the unique endeavour during one of the firm’s regular breakfast club meetings.

A total of 50 people signed up to compete in the challenge, with the aim of raising £500 by covering a cumulative distance of 2,752 km in two weeks, the distance from Anfield to Istanbul.

The target distance over the two weeks was an average of 196 km a day, and on the final day of the challenge, the group surpassed the 2,752 km mark.

Hayley King (conveyancing) topped the charts with an impressive 260 km, followed closely behind by Mark Hayes (crime) and Alison Priestley (marketing).

The directors at PC&Co thank everyone who took part including Matthew for his fundraising idea, organiser Becky Brown, and most importantly, all those who kindly donated. A total of £1,398 has now been forwarded on to the British Red Cross Society’s earthquake disaster appeal.
