Requirements for registration

Start Smart Sports

Have a completed medical form; signed and stamped by a physician. Copies will not be made at the Beacon Center: Medical Forms must be picked up prior to registration.

Run, jump, catch and have fun! This class is about moving, staying healthy and having fun! Learn soccer, kickball, baseball, and basketball! Saturday 10-11 am (ages 5 to 7) 11-12 pm (ages 8 to 10)

Proof of age is required. Copy of birth certificate, passport or valid picture ID. Children must be Five (5) years old and up. Four (4) years old must be age five (5) before the program begins.

Sleepaway Camp Our New York YMCA Camp in upstate Huguenot isn’t the only Y outside Ridgewood, but it’s the one that you want when you want your child to make friends and memories for a lifetime. Visit newyorkymcacamp.org to learn more.

Tennis Instruction The lessons feature instruction in both fundamental and advanced techniques of ground strokes, volley and overhead strokes. Emphasis is also placed on control, consistency, point play and match strategy in singles and doubles play. Tuesday 4:30-5:45pm

Jr. Leaders Club for Girls

Gymnastics Instruction

Girls will gain life skills, math and science knowledge, through experiments, discussions and lectures. Saturday 11 am-12:30 pm

Learn the basics and advanced moves of Gymnastics! Tumble, flip and cartwheel safely and have fun. Wednesday 4:30-5:45pm

Modern Dance

Jr. NBA & Jr. Knicks Basketball

Natural movement is one of the basis for modern dance. Key elements of this type of dance include release, fall, and suspension of movement. Dancers have freedom for individual expression. Performances will be held at the end of the Fall & Spring sessions. Thursday 3pm-4:15 pm

Join our basketball league, and develop teamwork, sportsmanship skills and responsibility. Jr. NBA: Fall 2012 Jr. Knicks: Mid-winter through Spring 2013 Saturday 12:00-3:00 pm (ages 11-13) 3:00-6:00 pm (ages 14-17)

Ballet This complete classical ballet class will include barre exercises, center technique, adagio, and basic turns. Children will be introduced to classical music as they learn about controlling their movements and improving posture and flexibility. Children must come prepared with appropriate ballet slippers. Friday 3pm-4:15 pm

Martial Arts Learn basic punches, strikes, blocks and kicks while gaining focus, strength and coordination. Karate at the Y is all about teamwork, respect and patience—not combat or self-defense. Mandatory parent orientation on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 6:30pm. Thursday Saturday Beginner 6:30-7:30pm 12-1pm Advanced 7:30-8:30pm 1:15-2:15pm
