Current Job

Position: Am currently in a two year fellowship program with Teach for Uganda,a Non governmental organization.

Role: I serve a teacher leader in the rural underserved school in a low income community of Kayunga district in Uganda.

Do you volunteer with Young Life: Yes

Volunteer Role: leader committee camp-volunteer

Impact of DGL: I wouldn’t have gotten a degree without the DGL program considering the fact that I came from a disadvantaged family. My family wouldn’t have raised enough money to take me through the University. Am a graduate today because of the DGL program. Through this program I have directly acquired leadership competences like relationship building, persuasive skills, communication skills, mobilisation skills among others and above all my relationship with Christ improved. These I acquired from the various engagement with the Young life staff here in Uganda in meetings, camps mentorship programs and training workshops that I participated in during my days as a DGL student. These skills will stay with me and will take me to greater heights.

Suggestions: I would have allowed the students have direct access to their sponsors. I disturbs my heart that some one raises alot of money üí∞ and pays for my education, I complete successfully and still I don’t have a way to directly say thank you to that person. Secondly, I would have created an avenue for continuous support to the DGL students, including influencing the top leadership in every country to prioritize recruiting the DGL graduates as younglife staffs in their countries

Future involvement: Be a professional mentor for a student Be a personal mentor for a student Be a prayer partner Create newsletters with needs and stories to share with other prayer partners Donate financially Participate in trainings

Anything we can celebrate with you? Yes, I applied to join a two year fellowship program with Teach for Uganda, went through all the application process and assessment successfully and this is my fifth month in the fellowship. This is worth celebrating

Prayer requests: Yes, your prayers üôè for me, I am currently mobilizing resources needed for me to get married to a lady am currently engaged to. I have a plan to get married early next year
