I hope everyone will learn to understand the mentality of people with hoarding. If the people aro und yo u have this sympto m, tr y to unders tand them and u se warm words to change them. They are not dirty people. They just need to help. They just need to be understood.

Do you find it difficult to discard items, even if you never nee d them, or they have broken down?

● Is there a lot of things in your

h o u s e, e v e n if t h i s i s not yo u r permanent residence?

● Do you tend to pile things up and

leave them for future processing, and these things will pile up there for days?

● Is there any area in your house (such as a dining table) that must be

cleaned up before it can be used for its original purpose? Zh

● Do you keep things often because

you worry that you might use them someday?

● Do you often keep things, but you

don't know exactly how they will be used in the future?

● Do you still keep some things that you intended to give as gifts?

● Do you have some storage boxes that you always take with you when

you move house, but never opened them?

● Do you often buy an item multiple

times because you have forgotten that you already own it?

you find it hard to do yourself, even if you don't need it?

â—? When you face a "cheap sale", do

you find it hard to do yourself, even if you don't need it?

â—? Do you collect free things, such as

shampoo in a hotel or cookies with soup in a restaurant, which you have never used or eaten afterwards?

T h e m o r e " ye s" y o u a n s w e r, t h e stronger your hoarding tendency, and

the more likely your environment will be cluttered.

How to treat hoarding If yo u have severe hoard ing, ask an expert for help.

Six rules to avoid clutter 1. Come in one, go out one. If you buy a

pair of shoes, you should have a pair of shoes ready to be discarded or donated so as not to fill up the cabinet.

2. There is nothing homeless. If you're thinking about bringing something home, you must be able to find a place for it or

replace it with something else. "Let's put it in the lobby first, knowing that I found a place", this is not an answer you can accept.

Be able to know when and how to use such things. In addition to the storage

place, this thing also needs a usage plan. "Oh, great. There are mo del clay sold here. It's a bargain!" But that's not the

reason to take home. "My nieces come next weekend, they can play clay!" This

is a good friend. Note that there are both specific dates and specific plans.

4. Live in the present. If you bought a new sweater and knew you would lose an old one, put the new one in the closet and take out the old one. If you drag

this thing on, you are unlikely to actually find a sweater to throw away.

5. Do not repeat. If you already have one

thing, buying another similar thing is not

a good idea, even if it is a good deal. The exception is if you do have storage

space for such things as cleaning supplies in the basement. However, you must have a clear plan for when and how to use it.

6. If it needs some sort of repair first, don't bring it back. In most cases, you won't really repair it. If you want to

re d uce clutter, t hen anyt hing t hat is broken or in need of repair should not come into your view.
