Background “Daddy I miss you so much!” Only a few words tell a story already of how a family is sperated by one of the parents working abroad in order to improve quality of life for the whole family. Yes, social media and technology are making our life more and more convenient, yet they can never provide the warmth of accompanying and create the memories of caring. We can not help to think, is our life really getting better? Yes? but perhaps not in the spiritual way. Then what shall we do while the love among family is fading out silently if we don't even live together?

Purpose Now we present a brand new experience for long-distance families. Instead of just a routine “goodnight�, we decide to use a new way of long-distanced storytelling to create sweet moments between parents and kids, at the same time it also makes the most delightful promise on earth and the best seasoning of life. Telling your children bedtime story every night may seem nothing, but indeed it means a lot for maintaining healthy parental relationship and meanwhile lightening the load of taking care of kids for the other half at home.

After Interview About video call 1.The video chatting time usually from out of work to sleeping everyday. Children are sad and don't want to say goodbye when time to hand up the video call. 2. Children and parents don't have many common topic to share, but they want to see each other before they go to sleep. They open the webcam but doing their own things. 3. Hope the interaction can be more comfortable and easier.

About Interact before sleep All of the familys that we interviewed said that they have the storytime before sleep. Also children would keep the promise to go to bed after stories easier.
About Bedime stories Telling bedtime story is always a great activity for parental relationship.It helps parents to set their children in bed easily and increase their intimacy at the same time. Moreover, scientific studies proof that telling stories is beneficial for children’s language development, especially for those 0-3 years old, therefore parents are suggested to tell stories to children since their babyhood.

Scenario Testing 1. After using SKYPE for testing, we found that we’re not relaxed when seating and staring at the screen during storytime. A comfortable way is lying down and looking at the picture projected on the ceiling with some drowsy yellow lights for clear children's faces and sleepy atmosphere. 2. Since parents and children share the same picture at the same time, parents will see when children point out and ask questions. StÜrizzZ app also has sound changing system which makes stories more interesting.
Conclusion To design a set of bedtime interacting products for long-distance families,suitable for 3~7 year-old children.The parent who works abroad would no longer miss the most important time of children's growth, meanwhile, sharing responsibility of takingcare for the other parent.

Sketch & Prototype Sketch We analized many children's toy, then we picked up elements which is appealing to them: warm-colored body, color-contrasting details and cute of course. prototype We tried to prototype the silicone neck to find out the problem of manufacturing and assembling. We also tried to paint fade-away effect to reduce the shadow of inside mechanism. We coded by ourselves to make it workable for presentation.

1. Flexible camera Camera and microphone can get close to children by bending Nite’s flexible long neck. 2. Children-friendly It is simple enough even for children to press a single botton, without any difficulty, they can now call the parent who is hundred miles away. 3. Clock the time of alarm and count down is shown on Nite's body and it is helpful for children to learn sense of time. 4. Nightlight The warm light captures children’s facial expression, makes them secure when they accidentally wake up in midnight. 5. Vertical projection In order to protect children from the damage of direct light and to create a cozy atmosphere for bedtime story, the picture of video call and story book will be projected on ceiling, which is easy to adjust the angle.

App Interface StรถrizzZ App has four major fuctions: Call Nite(children), Story Diary, Lirary and Mornig call. When children call, you can answer it or send a voice message setting a postpone time. After everyday storytime, parents can set a alarm clock and record a sweet "good morning" for children. Parents can also record every storytime as video diary, and share it after edited. The fun part is that just to press a little button,parents can imitate character's voice and make stories more interesting.

Background We all had the experience of saving coins into piggy bank when we just a kid.However, the habit is easy to break because people may leak the motivation to save money.Over time, we didn't care about it, or maybe they kept saving but easily gave up. Due to this, we wanted to design a lively piggy bank.

Concept Molly is a smart piggy bank. We used an emotional way to encourage kids to keep the habit of saving money. Also, it is a digital pet,saving money just like to feed it. We tried to give kids a happier way to save their money.About the appearance, we wanted it to be cute, soft-feel,elegent.

Form Sketch After we were sure about its function, we started sketching to find out its shape.We decided a simple, fluent shape that only imitate pig's body but doesn't got facial features on it, also chose a classic pink which making it cute and friendly.

Modeling Process First, we chose several side-view photos to make small prototypes,and then we picked up one we like most to turn into a real size model.After that, we used vacuum forming to make a shell, then adjust the functional cut-out to match the machanism inside. (The coin cut-out was especially difficult)In the end, we assembled the shell and the mechanism.

Mechanism Test This project was assigned to use LEGO to build the mechanism. We first decided what function should Molly have,then builded the body for test and arranged the movement by coding the small computer of LEGO.When we really built it, many probllems came to us,like the touch senser couldn't count when saving the coin and the switch of LED light ,but it was actually very interesting at all.

Film : Molly - a digital piggy bank
Product Molly is the stort name from money belly. This product is first aimed to kids,however it was popular to girl,too when we exhibited. We wanted it not only a daily appliance but a toy,a digital pet which can keep people accompany.The model was twice bigger than the real size we set due to the assignment need - we had to build the mechanism with LEGO.If using Ardiuno and self-made structure instead, it could be a normal size piggy bank.

Experiment First, I tried to put the tropical flowers and leaves into Polyester,then the problems came out: the flowers were hard to shape and the Poly would release heat when forming so the things inside became ugly. After that, I thought up plan B: mixing two contrasting color together,however it won't really mix completly because they were gluey, it turned out to be a interesting surface that I didn't expect before.

Modeling I seperated the chair into two part: seat and legs.The part of seat is more like a new way of production or an experiment, while the legs, I entrusted the ironworker to finsh it.I drew a drawing to communicate with him , about: tube's diameter, fillet to bend, how oblique should the legs be. Also, because the seat is not light, I chose stainless steel hollow tube instead of alumium's. In the end, I air-painted the leg after the constructure was done.

Background This years, the vinyl record come back to us. Famous singer's record released retro version, the modern singer also follow the trend. Inspired by that, we wanted to create a brand about it.We discovered there were many unfamous old record in the second-hand store, then decided that as our material.Also, finding that every record had their own unique surface,that became the beginning of our concept.

A5 Folder Book & Card We divided the vinyl record into four same pieces, then we cut out four characters' facial silhouettes by laser to decorate book's cover. We also design the cover of each book according to their spirits. Due to we wanted this item could be used longer,just like vinyl record, then chosing the folder book. The card's vinyl is actually the left part of the book's,because we cherished the records we used and don't want to waste them.

Tainan Home 2015 Interior Decorating of Apartment in Tainan
Background Me & my girlfriend moved out from school's dormitory in our sophomore year, and we rented an apartment near school. It was about 7-8 square meters, there was windows on the north & west, the furnitures were incomplete. After we moved in for a while,we found the living function was just too bad. That was the reason that I wanted to redesign it.

Wood work I collected some wood which was left in the working space of ID department as material. I learned to make furnitures: shoes cabinet,storage boxes,hanger,shelves,table,kitch en counter.Although they might not be delicate but they were workable for daily use.

Bedroom & Living room I put the closet facing the door to bolck the view direct to bedroom. The two people table was placed behind the closet, and two shelves were above it.The hanger for bags was close to hallway and mirror was in front of it.I used the corner for storage place.Then finally were the double bed and sofa. After using for a while, I changed the sofa's place to storage corner and used the place under sofa to store.
