Dear Class of 1998 Alumni, Congratulations on reaching this monumental milestone - the 25th anniversary of your graduation from the Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School! It was a great pleasure to welcome you back to your Alma Mater and it was wonderful to see so many of you celebrating together again. Many thanks to the members of the Reunion Committee who worked tirelessly so the reunion would be a day to remember. The reunion was a day for nostalgia, a time to see old friends and recall the fun you had together as well as the exceptional education you received. We are proud to count you among our alumni and commend you all for your personal and professional achievements, your community involvement and your devotion to Am Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael. Thank you for continuing the Flatbush tradition and for carrying forward the enduring legacy of our Yeshivah. Our goal is to reconnect with our graduates and connect our alumni to one another in the same unbreakable way as the lifelong friendships you formed in high school. We encourage you to stay in touch and become involved in our programs, campaigns, and events. Being an active alum is not only personally rewarding, but also provides you an opportunity to make a difference for others in the community. Your support, and that of other alumni, benefits current and future students and sustains the Yeshivah of Flatbush. It was a joy coordinating your 25th Reunion - Mazal Tov and Mabrook to the Class of 1998! Sincerely Yours, Emily Isayev Doueck (HS ‘10) Alumni Engagement Coordinator

From High School to my 25th reunion, life has been an incredible journey. I've been married to my husband, Joseph Dana for 22 years, and we are blessed with raising 3 beautiful girls & 2 handsome boys. I am an event planner & I absolutely love getting to be a part of my clients happiest moments. My years at Flatbush played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of my life, & I am eternally grateful. Looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Ian Adelstein ianadelstein@gmail.com (718) 608-4888

I have a created a loving home and family with my wife Michelle; daughters Alyssa (16) and Reagan (13); and our three dogs Zoe, Caleb and Maddox. We live on Long Island and love the thriving community we're a part of. I went on to get a Bachelor's and Master's Degree as well as post-graduate work and certifications. I'm now a Human Resources Executive and BMO Capital Markets (Bank of Montreal) and spend my days working with the business, coaching leaders and influencing change. I'm my free time (when not taking the girls to sports or spending time with my wife), you can find me at the gym or making highly unnecessary upgrades to my SUV. Congrats to 25 years everyone. Miss you, Adam.

Alexander Altberg alexaltberg@yahoo.com (310) 248-0904 Went to Yeshiva University. Graduated in ‘02. Through the YU Alumni community in Washington Heights, met my wife. She grew up in LA. We got married in ‘08. I moved out west to the Los Angeles, California area. Have 2 kids so far - 2 girls. Live in the San Fernando Valley which is suburban Los Angeles. I work as a financial advisor. We have 330+ sunny days per year. Always big blue, warm & sunny skies. Most days are warm, comfortable & not hot. Even in the summer, it’s not humid. There are very few rainy days. There are no rainy days at all between Pesach & Sukkot. The weather is great in the winter & in the summer! A lot of time can be spent outdoors and it’s comfortable! There’s lots to do & see everyday. Would love to see all of you visit!

Jenny Arakanchi Assouline Jenjoonie@yahoo.com (917) 420-5886 Hi, everyone! I hope this finds you all well! After high school, I received my BA in Elementary Education and then went onto receiving my MS in Elementary & Special Education. I got married in 2002 to Morris Assouline and that same year I started my teaching career at Magen David Yeshivah. After my first son, Jacob, was born in 2005, I took a break from the classroom and went onto having another son, Abie, in 2007 and a daughter, Raquel, in 2010. In 2011, we got sick of looking for parking in Brooklyn (ha!) and decided to move to the Jersey Shore, where most of my family had moved. We've been here for over 12 years and I'm loving the slower pace of life, and the parking of course! I kept up teaching fitness classes part time through the years and also went back to the classroom in 2014, at Hillel Yeshiva, teaching 3rd and 4th grade. I can't believe that we're here at our 25th reunion! It feels like yesterday we just met up for our 10th. Time is sure flying! I think back to our Flatbush days and realize how lucky I was to be part of something so special. The days were long and the work was hard but remembering the endless laughs and memories always puts a smile on my face. Looking forward to sharing this night with you and taking a trip down memory lane! Wishing everyone the best of luck in the future, with health and happiness always! Keep in touch!

Esther Ashkenazi Chrem

estherchrem@aol.com (917) 847-7204

Hello class of 1998! To sum up I got married out of high school had a son then got divorced. Got remarried had four more kids (two boys and two girls) with my husband, Marc and have been a stay at home mom and worked here and there. I got sick for many years with Lyme and treated it for about 7 years but wouldn’t trade it for anything because of the person I grew into and the amazing people I met along the way. I used to make cakes, dabbled in party planning and decorating, I am in process of starting my own needlepointing company and still doing the decorating (mostly kids spaces and kids bedrooms) or whatever creative comes my way :) I’ve also spearheaded some events to spread awareness about Lyme disease and the beautiful prayer of asher yatzar and how it affects health. That’s more or less what I’ve been up to in a nutshell :)

Isaac Ashkenazi iashkenazi@gmail.com (917) 750-1746

Adi Bitter adibitter@gmail.com 011-972-50-412-0845 After studying in Israel for a year, I attended Columbia, and then returned to Israel for my junior year abroad. I met my husband then, and after graduating from Columbia, attending GPATS, and teaching at SAR HS for a year, we made aliya in 2006. Thank God we feel so blessed to live in Jerusalem with our 5 children. I teach Talmud and Halacha at various midrashot here, and work as a yoetzet halacha and fertility counselor through Nishmat, helping women navigate the intersections between women's health and halacha. I enjoy waking up to enjoy the sunrise while I pray, running, spinning yarn and knitting with it, yoga, cooking delicious and wholesome plant-based meals for myself, and being out in nature. I'm so grateful for my years at Yeshivah of Flatbush-they were so formative in more ways than I can articulate! PS- I choose to not use a smartphone or be on social media, but I would love to reconnect with old friends and classmates! Email is probably the best way to reach me. Feel free to be in touch anytime! :)

I graduated Fordham University School of Law in 2005. I practiced litigation in New York, New Jersey and Florida for approximately 10 years. For a portion of that time, I was an attorney serving in the Special Education Unit of the New York City Department of Education. In 2011, I married Raphael Cohen. We have 3 beautiful children, Ava, Zacky and Caralynn. They all attend school at the Yeshivah of Flatbush. In 2021, I began working at the Yeshivah of Flatbush. I am currently a Department of Education Liaison for the school. I proudly utilize my prior legal experience with the Department of Education to help the students at the Yeshivah of Flatbush receive any necessary related services. I am excited to see the class of 1998 at our upcoming reunion. It makes me happy that I already see some former classmates at the school on a regular basis. For quite a number of us, the Yeshivah of Flatbush experience is truly M’Dor L’Dor.

I am excited about this reunion because it’s great to see old friends and reminisce together. We had such a great time in the old days at YOF. Everything was funny and lighthearted back then. Albert Hasson alrha@alrha.com (917) 749-6667 After graduating from Yeshivah of Flatbush I spent a year in Israel at Bet Midrash L’Torah and then went on to graduate from Yeshiva University with a BS in Finance. I later earned my MBA from New York University Stern School of Business with specializations in Economics, Financial Instruments & Markets, and Change Management. My career has focused on investment management in public and private financial markets. The greatest achievement of my life occurred 20 years ago when I married the incredible, Hana, a Magen David girl, and converted her to the Flatbush side - she is the Events Coordinator at YOF and organized our reunion. Together we have 4 children (Nathan, Lorenzo, David, and Aida), all are Yeshivah of Flatbush students (grades 4-11). We also have a dog who thankfully does not generate a tuition bill. We enjoy traveling as a family to explore the world. We raise our children to have a modern understanding of the global economy while maintaining an uncompromising dedication to Hesed and Torah values. I currently serve on the Finance Board, Board of Education, and as an Officer of the Yeshivah of Flatbush; I am a first responder of Hatzalah of Flatbush; and serve on the board of our shul, Ohel David & Shlomo, in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn. I still believe that my 4 years at Flatbush positively impacted the rest of my life, hence we trust the school to educate our children and offer them the same opportunities for a bright future. Looking forward to seeing you all again at our 50th!

We now live in Modi’in with our four children: Benaya (17), Yuval (15), Roni (10), and Asaf (5). I'm on faculty at Hebrew University, doing research and teaching in graduate programs in clinical child psych and special ed. Sometimes I still find this hard to believe since I basically failed my way through Flatbush and only got my diploma a year after you all! Despite that, Flatbush was extremely formative in terms of the experiences and friendships I still carry with me. It instilled in me a deep love for Israel and passion for working with children with disabilities, two things that have shaped my life since.

Following graduation, I studied in Israel for a year, then completed an undergraduate degree at Brooklyn College. I went back to full-time Torah study in Israel, at which time (2003) I married Tahlia Mirwis (class of 2001). We remained in Israel for 7 years while I studied in kollel and we began building our family. In 2010, we moved back to Brooklyn and began our teaching careers, which led us to Seattle, WA for 8 years, and the last 2+ years in Houston, TX. We have five children, one of whom is presently studying in seminary in Jerusalem. We hope to see ourselves and the entire Jewish People there soon!

I live in Montreal, Canada since the end of 2004 with my husband Lorne and our 4 kids, Nate, Olivia, Ella, and Tobias. Nate and Olivia are in YU and Stern, Ella is in 11th grade graduating this year (there’s no 12th grade in Quebec) , and Tobias is in 7th grade having his Bar Mitzvah a few days after our reunion. I recently finished my 3 year presidency at Hebrew Academy of Montreal and now taking on more leadership roles in Federation of Canada. Trying to implement everything I have learned as a Wexner Leadership graduate. I am most excited for the reunion to see and catch up with friends that I haven’t seen in a long time! Yeshivah of Flatbush will always hold a very special place on my heart!

Since graduating Flatbush, I obtained my doctorate in psychology and became a licensed psychologist in Los Angeles, CA where I met my husband (from Chicago, a graduate of Ida Crown Jewish Academy) the sister of one of my classmates at Long Island University’s Clinical Psychology Program. I got married in September 2012 and now have three children, 8.5 year old girl, 7 year old boy, and 3 year old girl. We live in the heart of Los Angeles. I am currently working in private practice, with adults and couples who struggle with relational trauma and relationship issues. My husband is a motion picture/literary agent for screen writers, directors and actors. We send our kids to a Jewish Day school that instills a love of learning Torah in them just like at Flatbush. I truly believe I am the person I am today because of my formative years at Flatbush and look back fondly on that time and the values and fortitude that developed in me from my attendance there. It was truly important for me to attend this reunion due to the crisis in Israel that is currently going on. We need Jewish unity and connection more than ever.

It’s been so many lifetimes since graduation! After attending Barnard College, I got married and worked for a few years before attending Columbia University School of Nursing. I had my first child after obtaining my BSN, and continued on to NYU’s College of Nursing to pursue an MS in Nurse-Midwifery. I had my second child after graduating from my masters program, and have been working as a midwife since. About 4 years ago, I became vegan, and during Covid I started a vegan cheese business, which has turned into a full-time job. I still have a private practice providing gynecology care. My family and I started volunteering for a farmed animal sanctuary (Odd Man Inn Animal Refuge) down in Tennessee in Summer 2021, and we continue to volunteer both on-site and remotely. I have been on the Board of Directors of the organization since 2022, and am currently serving as President of the Board.

I live in Scarsdale, Westchester with my wife, Danielle (yes, I know we have the same name) and our four children: Steven (16), Marlena (14), Elizabeth (11), and William (8). After graduating, I spent a year in Israel at Yeshivat Har Etzion, followed by four years at Columbia and three years at Georgetown Law School. I'm now a partner at the law firm, O'Melveny & Myers, focusing on bankruptcy and insolvency-related litigation. In addition to work and family, I devote a lot of time to Teach NYS, a group advocating for public support of Jewish and other faith-based schools, where I sit on their Westchester Leadership Board. I can't wait to reconnect with friends old and new at the reunion! Rarely a week goes by when I don't reflect on something I learned or an experience I gained at YOFHS. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

I married Sally Grazi (ES '95, HS '99) in 2004 and we have 5 children ages 17, 15, 13, 10 and 7. Our oldest just graduated Flatbush HS this past year. I currently own and manage two companies, Harmony Studios Inc. and Gig Gear, both in and related to the music and audio industries - I very much stayed true to my roots. I have been a member of the Board of Education at Flatbush for a number of years and I volunteer and stay involved as much as possible. I am most proud to say that I still have the honor and pleasure of playing drums on all of the high school seminars! With my continued involvement, my children attending as students (and now an alumnus too) and my wife being an administrator and teacher in the HS, we can truly say we are a Flatbush family through and through!

Hi Class of 98’. I’m so excited to be celebrating this milestone with all of you. I live in West Orange, NJ with my husband, Howie, and our five children, Danielle, Sean, Ethan, Brandon, and Isabella. I’ve done various things since I graduated, but currently I teach Hebrew at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy where my children attend school. In the summer, I also work as the aquatics director at a Jewish sleep away camp. I am most excited about this reunion because I miss everyone. I loved attending Yeshivah of Flatbush from kindergarten to 12th grade. I loved the teachers and all the great friends and classmates I had. I love participating in school plays, going to shabbatons, hanging out in the school lounge, getting together with friends…the list goes on and on. When I think of my high school years a huge smile appears on my face since it was definitely one of the best times in my life! ❤️❤️❤️

I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since we graduated high school! I currently work as the principal of P.S. 276, an elementary public school, located in Canarsie, Brooklyn. The four years I spent at Flatbush taught me so much. I made friendships with amazing people, and although it’s hard to stay in touch all the time, they are always in my heart.
