Strand 4 - Challenge and Skills Challenge and skills activities are exciting and stimulating, designed to help our learners to develop confidence, resilience, aspirations and health, including: • Duke of Edinburgh's Award • Ten Tors Jubilee • World Skills • College Volunteering Group • College Sustainability Group • Basic Car Maintenance • Leadership Skills. Strand 5 - Ambassador Ambassador roles provide learners with the opportunity to engage and contribute to the college community. Undertaking these roles on a formally established basis enables us to genuinely place students at the heart of everything we do, this includes: • Student Voice • Student Ambassador • Student Governor • Student Union • Charity Fundraising. Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) It is widely accepted that participants in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards are recognised for developing life-long skills, creating new experience and encouraging students to try new activities: • The ability to work independently • The ability to work with others • Analytical skills • Problem-solving skills • Communication skills • Self-motivation • Determination • Commitment.

Elias Abiye is one of our fantastic Plumbing students who has completed his Gold standard in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Elias has worked hard, which involved volunteering in a charity shop, playing fivea-side football and learning how to swim; Elias is an inspiration to many.
