The NEWH Rocky Mountain Chapter had a fabulous time at our third annual Student Scholarship Kickoff Party, at the Workplace Resource showroom in downtown Denver

We were joined by students from a variety of local Colleges & Universities within the Rocky Mountain Region Our event focused on networking and helping students understand the process of applying for the NEWH scholarship This year we are giving away up to $20,000 to three lucky students!

We offered free headshots by our very own Past President, Kyla Chambers, with Kyla Chambers Photography, capturing their best side to get them ready to enter the professional world Students also had the opportunity to network with many of our members from top local design firms

Farm & Market

LOCATION: DENVER, CO

Farm & Market is a groundbreaking hydroponic farm and restaurant in Denver, challenging traditional farming methods Utilizing less than 10% of the water used in conventional farming, the 3,000-squarefoot farm produces 100,000 pounds of produce annually and operates 100% wind-powered and chemical-free The design integrates two climate-controlled showcase farm rooms into a welcoming dining environment, ensuring the goal of on-site, fresh food The adaptive reuse of an outdated structure into a working hydroponic farm and restaurant posed challenges especially maintaining controlled conditions year-round in Denver's variable climate The design team at OZ created transparency on two sides of the farm with full-glass walls at the storefront and in the interior The design leans into the high-tech nature of the farm, celebrating the pink grow lights nurturing plants while allowing direct consumer access to daily harvests This custom-designed flagship restaurant can now act as a springboard for replicability in markets nationwide.
