THE ENCOUNTER

02 VISUAL DESIGN OVERVIEW
03 VISUAL DESIGN OVERVIEW

The SOP is divided into two sections. Part 1 is the "Manual," offering guidelines that colleagues can follow during administrative tasks and project execution. Part 2 is the "Principles," providing colleagues with guidance on project planning and creative thinking. In Part 1, using a grid design, each paragraph's content is clearly separated. Title indices are placed on both sides for quick access to specific items. Additionally, a quote encouraging interaction with colleagues is inserted between the grid designs, offering a moment of respite within the dense manual text.

Part 2 is presented through Typography Poster designs. Each word and image carries its own significance. These Typography Posters are printed on various color papers, inserted between the sections of Part 1. This interplay allows the "Work Manual and Principles" to resonate with each other, creating visually complementary spaces in the overall reading process.

The binding allows easy replacement of internal pages, enabling the company's system to undergo SOP updates in the most sustainable manner amid changing circumstances.

2021 NEW TAIPEI SDGs VOLUNTARY LOCAL REVIEW

This book aims to "lower the reading threshold" and bridge the gap with the citizens, presenting from a perspective that is closely aligned with daily life. Seeking a balance between serious reports and reader-friendly publications, it differentiates itself from the typical standardized presentation of reports. Information and charts are visualized, utilizing concepts from graphic design, pull-outs, and magazine layout to address issues that may be difficult to comprehend.

Echoing New Taipei City's "Living Well" concept—subverting the traditional appearance of reports: Typography is arranged in a lifestyle magazine style that is approachable and relatable, incorporating photographs of New Taipei's landscapes with a warm touch to bring out the themes of each chapter. The core values of "5P" are highlighted: Planet, People, Peace, Prosperity, and Partnership, combining with cases from the private sector to present unique sustainable initiatives of New Taipei.

The 81 New Taipei sustainable development indicators are visually displayed in the appendix, intuitively using icons of various sizes to allow everyone to understand the desired vision for 2030. Applying sustainable thinking, environmental sustainability concepts are integrated into the VLR report paper and process. The global partnership concept of SDGs is employed to implement sustainability, aiming to reduce cooperation barriers in cross-city collaboration and foster unity for mutual prosperity.

This book is produced using eco-friendly paper and ink printing, available in both printed and online reading versions, allowing the New Taipei VLR to be accessed sustainably at anytime.
