‘The Professional Edge’ was a month long initiative, carried out on all weekends of September 2015 by WZCC WE Wing Pune Chapter, that aimed at equipping women from all walks of life with the business acumen required to set up successful, independent businesses. 15 ladies were part of this initiative who are primarily wanting to set up their own businesses and journeyed down over the 4 weekends to get a 360 degree understanding of developing and managing their own businesses. The Professional Edge initiative is the brainchild of WZCC (Pune) Chairman, Mahrukh Bharucha. The Program commenced on the 5th of September and ended on the 27th September, 2015.

‘The Elements of a Business Plan’, and ‘Fundamentals of Banking & Finance.’ The learning sessions were interspersed by inspiring case studies by Thrity Poonawalla and Sarika Mahashabde. The second weekend offered an insight into ‘Social Media for Business Development’; ‘Basics of Marketing’; ‘Business Law’; ‘Understanding Sales’, and ‘Soft Skills.’ The third weekend offered insights on the ‘Essentials in Leadership, ‘Interpersonal Skills’, ‘Team Building’, ‘Presentation Skills for an Elevator Pitch’ and ‘Work life Balance.’ The last day saw a flurry of activities with Individual customizations of final plans. 15 beaming participants received their Certificates of Completion for the program.
