orn in Karachi, and educated at Karachi Grammar School and the Roedean School, Toxy Cowasjee is the 4th generation Zoroastrian resident of Pakistan. Distinctive in thought and creative in multiple fields she is the finest example of a professional who is always ready on time, disciplined and does her home work before starting any new work. She is a vibrant and warm person. Happy and cheerful. She is an inspiration to every woman who has a dream and a desire to excel. As the President of the Karachi Zarthosti Banu Mandal from 1994 - 2001, Toxy initiated numerous community-oriented projects that ranged from helping young people and working with families to developing knowledge and skills, setting up blood banks, to establishing lines of communication with a monthly newsletter “What’s On.” An accomplished writer, she has edited and published several books, including the cookbook ‘Manna of the Angels’, and is the current editor of HAMAZOR, the acclaimed magazine of the World Zoroastrian Organization. Toxy was also the first and only woman president of Karachi Parsi Institute established in 1893. An advocate for the underprivileged, whether Afghan refugees, victims of floods and earthquakes, or farmers suffering in Gujarat, she is admired for her selfless campaigns.
