A total of 43 singles players and 54 doubles combinations participated in the Yayasan Sabah in-house badminton tournament held on November 20 to 23 at the YSSports Centre. The tournament was divided into eight categories. In the men's open singles, Abas Ali of Real Estate Division became champion after beating Andrew Sandah of Corporate Communications Department 15-10, 15-10 while in the women's open singles, Chin Mui Kee of ICSB Finance Department gave a walkover to Khoo Chui Eng of Yayasan Sabah Sandakan Regional office. Jupilin Gilau of Education Development Division beat Asgan Sinyor of Vehicle Unit 15-12, 15-12 to be the champion in the men's novice singles while for the women's novice singles, Esther Panguat of STAR came first after beating Zainab Abdullah of Human Resource & Administration Department with 11-1, 11-1.

Mohd Idris Mohd Shafi and Emmanuel Edward Kissy of Transportation Division came out champion in the men's open doubles after beating Silverius Bruno and Laiwon Dalus of Yayasan Sabah Tambunan Regional office, 15-5, 15-4. In the women's open doubles Khoo Chui Eng and Lily Chong combined well to claim first place after beating Chin Mui Kee and Didi Kinat, 15-4, 15-11.

In the men's novice doubles category, Bobby Wilson and Spencer Justine of STAR beat Allan Masuhur and Clement Lo of Child Development Centre, 15-13, 11-15, 15-1 to become champion while Didi Kinat and Lily Chong beat Georgina Grace Micheal who partnered with Nursyahida Abdullah, 15-2, 15-13 to claim the women's novice doubles champion. PRESS GAME

The Press Team led by Sabah Journalists Association President Joniston Bangkuai, emerged the winner after beating Yayasan Sabah in a bowling friendly over four games held at CPSBowling Centre Kota Kinabalu on October 3. The Press Team coliected a total of 9945 pinfalls as compared to Yayasan Sabah's score of 8980 pinfalis.

Siti Mariam from Press Team was smiling home after winning the Ladies' Hi-Game of 201 pinfalls and Hi-Series of 698 pinfalis. In the Men's Hi-Game, the winner went to Yayasan Sabah's Manager, Corporate Communications Abdul Rashid Salleh with 245 pinfalis while the Hi-Seriesevent was won by Colin Forsythe of the PressTeam with 732 pinfalis.

A total of 34 bowlers took part in the bowling friendly.Yayasan Sabah's Health and Welfare Division Group Manager Hassan Haji Momong gave away the prizes to the winners.

Catherine in action Catherine Ong of ICSB Finance Department emerged champion in the overall category of the Yayasan Sabah Master Bowling tournament with a total of 1918 pinfalls. For her effort she won RM350. The tournament was held on November 26 at the CPSBowl. Second place went to Ibrahim Mahali of Forestry Division with 1812 pinfalls followed by Christoclay Tan of Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort with 1785 pinfalis. Pudin Ibrahim of Centre for Borneo Studies was fourth with 1760 pinfalis followed by Batil Sintan of Human Resource & Adminstration Department with 1736pinfalls.
