BENEFITS OF POWDER COATING

Durability The powder coating process produces a long-lasting and durable, hard finish that is both protective and decorative. They can also act as electrical insulators and can withstand hundreds of hours of salt spray contact.

Specialty Coatings Powder coatings can be applied to a variety of metal and non-metal materials in a wide range of thicknesses, colors, finishes, and textures that are not readily achievable through other coating methods.

Environmental Impact

Curing and Drying Process

Compared to liquid coatings, powder coatings do not require solvents to maintain the coating suspension. Some other environmental advantages of powder coatings include less carbon dioxide emissions, and no need for the use of a primer before the coating application.

Powder coatings require much shorter curing, processing, and drying times. Powder coatings also generally require less air and air exchanges within the spray booth and curing oven. This advantage saves on energy usage and the overall costs.

Material Utilization In powder coating applications, nearly all coating material is utilized. Additionally, as powder coatings do not contain solvents, the material is not lost to the atmosphere during application, leading to a powder coating material utilization rate of close to 100%.
