I come from Chinese Mainland. Before becoming a landscape architecture student, I had been carrying out a career in landscape architecture. At present, I am still working in a Chinese landscape company as the manager of the design department. I participated in the landscape construction of eight large residential areas and the construction of three small parks. As we have been doing construction work, we have a strong interest in landscape architecture. Therefore, I entered UNSW to learn landscape architecture in 2019.
My family has been engaged in the traditional Chinese landscape for several generations. With the development of study and work, I realised that the depth of landscape is more profound than I thought. In the past five years of work in the landscape industry, I found that landscape is not only used to optimise the environment in the traditional sense, cultivate seedlings, and build recreation sites. In the long-term develop ment, landscape research has been closely linked with urban ecological development, land transformation and urban residential environment, and will find a balance between urban construction and ecological environment in the future. As an applied science, it should have a more comprehensive application. This is also why I chose the landscape architecture discipline as my future survival and personal value.

Angus is located in 2765 New South Wales, Australia. Angus is situated in the Darug tra ditional Aboriginal country. Angus was ap proved as a suburb on 7 September 2020 and gazetted on 6 November 2020. Prior to the suburb’s creation, the area was part of Mars den Park and Riverstone. Angus is affected by the South Stream and the East creek, so it is
very easy to flood. This design is aimed at the overall planning of Angus and other towns, and to find the answer in the context of ex treme natural disasters.

+ANGUS OVERALL PLANNING
A TOWN DOMINATED BY STREETSCoordinate the functional distribution of Angus and create a sound town with complete func tions and integrate natural protection habitats and human activities to increase Angus’s livabil ity and ecological environment protection. To manage and intervene in the existing conditions of Angus at the ecological, social and economic levels. The overall planning of Angus takes the
urban centre as the base point and develops the surrounding area. The periphery surrounds the natural reserves, and the residential areas are evenly distributed around the interfered area to receive a positive impact. All areas are connect ed by streets, forming a gradual whole so that the positive impact of each area is distributed in Angus.

THE THREAT OF FLOODS
As Angus was affected by the flood, three areas with different activity levels have been formed. The first stage area is mainly natural vegetation or wetland, and the second stage is mainly used for grazing and agriculture. Because the land nature and ownership are not conducive to planning and development, the third stage area is Angus’s primary residence and the central area designed. These three dif ferent natural interventions through flood constitute a gradual and orderly ring belt, which is also the most basic planning concept followed by this plan.

The final planning is carried out in the form of a ring belt. There are three rings in total, with the most active urban centre as the innermost ring to spread the influence to the residential area dominated by housing in the second ring, and the third ring of nature reserves and habitats to transmit the natural influence to the second ring at the same time. Among them, the interspersed

park serves as a node and acts as a repeater to continue to spread the positive impact. Under such planning, the street will become an impor tant carrier for the diffusion and integration of site conditions. It will not only bear the traffic and transportation of Angus, but also exist as an open space and park, and bear the social, sports and leisure places of Angus residents.

ANGUS STREET
In the street landscape design of Angus, it is required to deal with the relationship between people and the environment. It is not allowed to wantonly destroy the nature in order to meet people’s life needs, but to create a pleasant liv ing environment with people as the main body. From the space scale, landscape, color and other aspects of the street, we should show our con
cern for people, so that people can feel relaxed and happy in it. In the street landscape design, the theory of environmental ecology and ergo nomics should be combined to meet the needs of users and create a pleasant street space. The streets of small towns are like the vein of a town, which can weave all the spaces of a town.

Moore Park is a 115 hectare large park with many sports facilities, including cricket and football fields. It was the first zoo and open-air market in Sydney, but it was closed in the mid19th century. At present, there is an 18 hole golf course in the park, which occupies most of the space of the whole park. How to adjust the scale of the golf course and return the space
to the public is the problem Moore Park is facing now.

A variety of plants have evolved to build a continuous shade, reduce regional temperature and create a microclimate. In this process, ecology also began to develop. The diversified biological environment constructed ecological development and realized the coexistence and circulation of animals, plants and humans.

+NATURAL PERFORMANCE
THIS IS A GRAND AND LONG PERFORMANCE ABOUT NATURE
OUR ACTORS: LAWNS, FLOWERS, TREES, TERRAIN AND NATURE ITSELF.
Lawns, woods, shrubs and hills, four natural shapes, provide an ecological shade for the sur rounding areas. The continuous shade will be cre ated through the evolution of plants to adjust the regional microclimate environment and achieve climate flexibility.
The canyon forest has created hills, slopes, plains and other characteristic planting areas to observe
the evolution process of different plant communi ties more intuitively.
The forest is planted with forests, shrubs, ground cover plants and other central communities to create an urban ecological forest for long-term viewing, gathering and recreation with affluent plant communities.
There are many gaps left in the design, trying to let the vegetation develop freely ,let human life and the ecosystem merge gently. Based on this theory, parks can sort out their own appearance, give people space to daydream and explore the way of harmonious coexistence between people and nature.

On the basis of existing local plants, new plants are introduced and planted in different areas. At the initial stage of the project, these plants exist as seedlings and in a single state, forming a community after 20 years of development. In the process of plant evolution, the park can have different scenery and state in different periods, just like a performance.

OUR CHILDREN
Childhood is the initial period of life, the most sim ple and most in need of care. Let them grow up healthily and happily is the goal of all mankind, and is also crucial to the future of any society. Research shows that playing in open space is a prerequisite for children’s healthy development. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the needs of children growing up in urban high-density environment for open space. The growth and development of life is
the greatest scene in nature. As a designer, it is a sacred duty and mission to integrate wisdom and ideals into this process. Designers should learn to look at things with children’s eyes and listen to their voices. Only from the perspective of children and understanding their real needs can we design works that truly meet the nature of children and help them become happy people and achieve a better society.

COMPOSITION OF THE EXHIBITION
There are three main parts in total, HIVE counter, transparent fabric curtain and fabric box with HIVE series products hanging inside. The choice of color is here. The reason why I choose these colors is that dark colors can better reflect rationality and humor, and endow products with character.
HIVE COUNTER
This is the installation introduction of the venue. On the right is the HIVE counter, which consists of four parts: the plastic lamp post in the center, six display counters made of plywood, a sup port frame and a light box at the bottom. These easily found ma terials and modular design can ensure the rapid construction of the exhibition hall.

ALGAL PROBLEMS
This project is mainly composed of waterscape. In the second week after it was put into use, we found that many green algae began to grow underwater, because the local water body seemed to be very easy for algae to grow. At the beginning, we conducted manual cleaning and added copper sulfate solution to the water. This method is useful, but it does not last long. So we decided to start with the water body,
replace the water circulation system with higher power, and change the water circulation time from 6 hours to 2 hours. Now we only need to check the water circulation system regularly every two months. In the field landscape construction, many problems will be found, which can be avoided at the beginning of the design.
