Stargazing 2021

Acrylic

This acrylic piece of art demonstrates both how beautiful it can be to relax by the campfire and take in everything that nature has to offer, as well as how to value the things that are all around us.

I was brought up in Hong Kong. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by skyscrapers and architecture in the city, especially the Clock Tower. In this art piece, I use some of the linework of the building and recreate this abstract work and use strong colour such as black and dark blue to emphasize the lines.

I believe that experimenting with many styles or fusing various styles to get fresh ideas is the key to success in architecture. I combined futuristic and gothic design elements to create an underground metropolis in this painting. The primary gothic style element, which is its attention to detail, is combined with futuristic ideas in this artwork. Pen shading is used to produce the artwork's strong texture.

Generate idea is also important to create amazing artwork and to do so you need draw different styles to know what is useful.

Music is one of the things I simply could not live without and one of the artist that gave me the inspiration is Juice Wrld and at the same time he also have a big interest in anime which gave me the idea of combining a Japanese anime with Juice Wrld.

In between each lightening design includes one of the songs I love the most by Juice Wrld.

In the background of the character is a broken wall design and designed with the lyrics of the song “All Girls are The Same”.

Trying new things is essential to being better and improving in art. Trying out fashion ideas is one such example. This artwork also incorporates gothic architecture elements while wearing traditional Japanese garb. Each character also has a unique accessory, such as a sword for the male character and fans for the female figure to fit the style.

This acrylic painting represents a concept I have for how the world might look in the future. The floating island, which is surrounded by clouds and is close to the sea, is the main subject of this picture. This sketch concentrates on the finer details of the grass and the island's texture, which is created using a variety of tools, including a fan brush.

Mixed Style Doorway 2022

This is a dry point printmaking artwork which is new to me, and I want to use this opportunity to experiment with using the topic architect and create a simple design mixed with gothic style and modern style. Some of the gothic style characteristic such as its detail is mainly used in this drawing and modern style is used on the door.

One of the method used to create the strong texture and shade it has is by using cross-hatching method

City In Forest 2022 Pencil and marker pen

This is a concept drawing of futuristic building that I created after watching an episode of the Star Wars television series. I got the notion that, after the war, there would be a rogue machine in the forest, and humans would raise a metropolis above it. Marker pens and pencils were primarily utilized in this artwork to create texture to the trees and the machine.

This pair of wings stands for me since I enjoy supporting and helping out my friends in whatever way I can. I therefore envision myself as an angel who always stands by those in need in a past life.

One of my favorite tools for making art has been marker. A pair of wings are depicted in this painting, and the drawing's powerful texture was produced via a straightforward technique called cross-hatching.

The ability to draw with a pencil is crucial in architecture. I used this chance to examine more closely at our bodies, which are what distinguish us from other people.

This is a drawing based on a picture which helped me to harvest my pencil skills by using onepoint perspective.

I always have a big attachment to churches since churches are gothic architecture and I admire the small detailed it has and rich history. Therefore, this drawing is dedicated to Hong Kong’s St. John's Cathedral

Statement of Interest

Since I was young, I have been honing my drawing skills using various tools, including pens, acrylic paint, and watercolors to create various original artwork. I developed a liking for drawing building structures during this time, my favorite style being gothic. I would draw till I was satisfied with my work since I adore the history and concept behind all these great structures, I appreciate capturing the finer aspects of each spot, and I also believe myself to be a perfectionist. My second favorite architectural style is futuristic, and the reason for that is that I've always been a fan of the Star Wars film series. The structures in the movies served as my inspirations, and I have a vision that the next generation's architectural designs will switch from modern to futuristic because it gives the younger generation a new sense of perspective and because the modern world also tends to mix with various green technologies because they're more practical and better for the environment.

Studying architecture is one of my top priorities because I want to learn how to incorporate green technologies like solar electricity into architectural design, which is one of my visions. This is because of the numerous environmental issues that our planet is currently experiencing, such as global warming, emissions, and the leakage of natural resources. Laurentian University is different compared to other university and one of the main reasons for that is because of the environment and atmosphere it provided which is most important to me, the reason for that is because surrounded by people who shares the same vision and idea as you motivate you to do better and at the same time people who shares the same idea can be assist for one another. The second reason is co-op, which gives students the chance to visit various nations to discover more about the background of a certain structure and get firsthand experience.

In order to learn how the world works, there will also be opportunities for students to gain real-world work experience working in architecture firms. Students will also have the chance to build structures during the first two years, which is what I am most looking forward to because I don't have much experience working well with others. It will be a great opportunity to learn about teamwork and develop better relationships with peers.
