What to expect... Ténéré (ten-air-ray)

Ténéré 700

1. From the Tuareg language, meaning ‘desert’ 2. A dual sport motorcycle, produced by Yamaha named after the notorious Ténéré desert stage of the former Paris-Dakar Rally. Although we can’t offer you the searing heat and sand dunes of the desert, we can offer you a thrilling adventure ride in the picturesque hills and countryside of Mid Wales. The Yamaha Ténéré Experience offers you the chance to explore some of the most beautiful and rugged countryside in the UK from the seat of Yamaha’s latest class leading off-road bikes including the WR250F, WR450F, and the increadible Ténéré 700. Linked by public highways and green lanes, you will ride through forests, over mountains, across rivers and ride gravel tracks while also taking in technical and challenging off-road terrain - all exclusively used by the Yamaha Ténéré Experience. Throughout your tour you will also have ample opportunities to stop for a breather, and you’ll be blown away by the breathtaking views that the Welsh countryside has to offer (taking a camera is a must). You’ll also be treated to lunch at a local pub. Each tour can cater for up to 8 to 10 people and you will be accompanied at all times by 2 instructors who bring with them a wealth of knowledge, of both off-road riding and of the extensive landscape that is your playground for the day.

Ténéré 700

So, whether you are new to adventure riding or a habitual trail junky, the Yamaha Ténéré Experience can accommodate all your adventure seeking desires with trails and terrains to suit all abilities.*

Want to take your riding to the next level? Go Beyond Tour

Adventure Bike Skills Training

Off-Road Experience PLUS+

Enduro Training Schools

In essence a two-day Ténéré Experience, but the ‘Go Beyond Tour’ takes you much further afield and on more technically demanding terrain, to explore some of the most spectacular, rugged and remote parts of Wales.

This course is all about learning, improving and perfecting the skills you need for riding an adventure motorcycle off road.

Back by popular demand, the Off-Road Experience PLUS+ day is aimed at people who have already been on our Off-Road Experience day and are looking for the next challenge .

As well as the Yamaha Off-Road Experience we also run specialist 2-day Enduro Training Schools aimed at trail riders all the way upto national level expert riders.

A day that is full of thrills and probably some spills, will take you into the heart of enduroland. You will cover miles of forest and farm tracks with all the elements of enduro, mud, rocks, ups and downs, ruts, bogs and even ride sections of the World Enduro Championship track.

These take place between December and February and participants can either bring their own bike or hire one of our machines. We have a limited number of WR250F & WR450F available for hire.

We will go west from our base on one day and a northerly route on the other, taking you to the coast and riding some of the highest routes in Wales. You will ride on open gravel trails, technical rocky sections, river crossings, on rights of way and routes we have private access to. This will be linked together by some of the best biking roads in the UK. This really is one ride you will never forget! Due to the technical nature of some of the trails, this course is only suitable for people who have attended one of our one or two day Ténéré Experience courses or have some previous experience of riding adventure bikes off road.

There will be lots of coaching on elements that we cover on our normal Ténéré Experience courses, but in much more depth. The emphasis will be on giving you lots of practice on the different exercises and training areas, to help you improve your technique and build your confidence. We will also include training on riding ruts, picking the bike up, water crossings and what to carry with you when you are out riding. This course is ideal for anyone who is considering going on an overland trip which will involve considerable amounts of off road riding and for anyone who wants to improve their skills to go trail riding and green laning on larger adventure bikes.

It’s a more demanding day than the Off-Road Experience, but it will reward you with new found skills and confidence. Not for the faint hearted, with fun, adrenaline and mud guaranteed! Are YOU ready for it???

We cater for up to 40 riders with a coaching ratio of no more than 10:1. Please phone or e-mail us for details.

Please note: The Off-Road Experience PLUS+ is aimed at riders with some previous off-road riding experience and is NOT for beginners.

Accommodation Whether you are planning to travel down the day before your experience or you’ve booked a 2 day tour, we can recommend a wealth of fantastic local hotels, B&B’s and self-catering apartments suitable for all budgets. Visit our website for more details or when booking your Yamaha Off-Road Experience, please ask for a full list of local places to stay. † If using your own bike, it must be fully road legal, adequately silenced, have tyres suitable for the off-road terrain and you must supply your own fuel. The Yamaha Ténéré Experience reserves the right to refuse the use of any motorcycle which it deems is not suitable, adequately silenced or not in a roadworthy state for use on a tour. **To take part in a Yamaha Ténéré Experience tour, you need to have a full motorcycle license. Those restricted to an A2 licence will only be permitted to ride WR250R model.
